I hope elves can catch a break this time around.

The Stolen Throne is great. I really hope Loghain gets some content in DA:I.
On topic, it seems the elves are the Charlie Brown of Thedas. Things will go wrong no matter what happens though must admit I haven't been exactly helping out their cause either.

The only good plans elves had this far was to stand aside or take advantage and then getting screwed over both times. Unless they can come up with a better plan, I don't see them lasting much.

They were an unit of archers created by Loghain , made only from elves. He was the only human. They've got the name "Night Elves" because they usually attacked orlesian camps during night. The orlesians were scared that they will be killed in their sleep by them, as many others were.

I think that if they apply the same tactics Maric did in the Ferelden - Orlais war they would stand a pretty good chance. Add to that the city elves that might join them and they have a pretty good guerrila force.
Still, we need to see how things go in the next novel.

Elves try to go to war against humans in a large rebellion only to lose and face worse prejudice than before.
Or they and the city elves could sell their souls to the Qun and lose their culture in the process.
Or they could stop trying to claim back a long dead culture destroyed slavery, and try to start a new one as hinted by the Warden-Commander.

Indeed, they wouldn't know the lands as good as the orlesians, but they could learn from their city bretheren. Also, they are very adaptive.
Still, such a war would be at an impasse. The elves wouldn't permit full scale war with the orlesians and would have to resume to stealing supplies and quick strikes on small forces while the orlesians wouldn't stand a chance if they took the war to The Dales ( that if they don't decide to start a huge campfire ).
The Inquisitor might play a part in tipping the balance in one way or another.

Orlais Chantry not decided their exact position to Inquisition but they do not like our organsation and i am sure that they would interfere our work and do their **** propoganda....so they our enemy and with them Orlais is our enemy too
saving Orlais and especialy dales and their jerk humans is not saving humanity)))

Elves are much fewer in number than humans. And not as well equipped or trained.
Dalish crafting, and the Dalish soldiers in DA:O, would disagree with that.
Here's a question - if it is possible to re-establish an elven kingdom of the Dales in Inquisition, will you do so?

Now if they go it alone then you're going to see an American Vs Indian conflict where all they can do is die all over the rest of Thedas.

As for the second question, almost certainly not. The Dales are gone. The elves don't need that particular piece of territory. For the elves to have a nation it should be somewhere else not where there are major human populations they would have to cleanse.

Are elves still the downtrodden race in Dragon Age: Inquisition?
Jonathan PerryAbsolutely, in the Dragon Age world elves are still treated as slaves or scum. What will be really interesting in Dragon Age: Inquisition is to see how characters react to a Qunari Inquisitor because they’re in a similar position as the elves were in Dragon Age: Origins. People are pretty sceptical of a putting a Qunari in a position of power.

Half of them join The Dalish and here you go. Guerrila warfare, robbing and blockades on the main supply rodes.
I really hope that Bioware has something else planned for the CEs than to be assimilated and made second-class Dalish citizens (or be forcibly assimilated into being Dalish).

Without humanity, the elves would destroy the world with their elf talk and then the Qunari and Dwarves would be force to assume the role of murdering all elves.ImperatorMortis wrote...

That's Bioware's version. There is no canon.
DAII has the human noble as first option.
