Every time a dalish kills a human, all elves get blamed, not just the dalish. And they do that a lot to earn their reputation as dangerous wanders who kill people who come too close to their camp.

City elves have their own issues to deal with already without the dalish throwing their baggage onto them. And their rebellion may very well have merrit seeing as how the alienages can be and how they can be treated. But a reformed society with elves and humans as equals is much better to the pro-elf anti-human ethno-centric policies of the dalish.

This is pretty much everywhere not only dalish and not only dalish are blame humans do that as well so in practice that one dalish kills someone is only excuse for human to do that same and pretty much vice versa city elves do that as well but as more controled by humans they are slaughtered by humans when one city elf killed once someone and as well in CE origin.Pretty much excuse will be always on both sides blaming one side instead both or neither is ridiculous.

And there is no such thing as equal treatment of elves and there won't be humans have no intrest in that.

But not every human in Thedas can be as prejudiced and unobservant as you. It's just not statistically possible.

Look everyone it's going to take work on all three sides for any sort of integration, the city elves can be just as xenophobic as the dalish and god forbid you try to make a living for yourself outside the alienage.
The dalish are a varied people, just because the two clans we've seen have been ****** poor examples doesn't mean call an exalted march on them.
Humans hold most of the power in thedas, if the royalty wanted integration they'd do it most don't care and want to keep them low they don't want to change the status quo.

This didn't work out so well in Ferelden.  The King said "Have some land", the Elves moved in, and the common folks attempted to move them right back on out.  Apparently with violence.  So integration definitely isn't just something waiting for noble declaration.

Why is it people spend so much time trying to simplify all Dalish, humans or elves as if they had a single personality trait? Is it just simpler to imagine that all Dalish are always racist thugs or always victims of human aggression?

Trying to paint all Dalish clans and all of Dalish culture with a single brush or that they have s single perspective is factually wrong.

Elves aren't forced into living in slums, Alienages are slowly gaining rights and Ferelden's already improved elven standard of living. Not by much but it's there. When the Dalish are wiped out, humans won't be exposed to the toxic elements of the Dalish which would poison their opinions on elves as a whole, intergration--which is already ongoing--would be smoother.

It might take generations but eventually, elves would reach the point of equality to humans. Most "uprisings" or "fighting against the man" just ends up with the little man getting crushed even harder than before.

I am guilty of hatin' on the Dalish at times though.  They got no spinners.  And by that I mean they're horrible, hypocritical racists who'll blame any non Dalish of fault if you dare question their stories.

that I think it rather bold to make a subservient race to highlight

I think it's specifically that they're a "High" race that is portrayed in a downtrodden fashion.  Look at the forums, how many people care about Casteless, who do have it so much worse than elves or mages? 

The CE elves can have a story of integration, with the eventual loss of their people by appearance, but kept alive through tradition and culture.  Melting pots yo.

Where do you have that ferelden already improved elven standard of living?That isn't in case at best in ferelden isn't as bad as in orlais which is practically towards almost everything when we compare.Even map in witch hunt mention that denerim was rebulit after blight only alienage is ruin buildings.There isn't any improvments in ferelden. giving let be threated like trash will only encourage to do that so good luck with that.
