There's a lot of stuff on sale on Origin today. I picked up DAII for PC because I like RPGs and I've been meaning to get this for the PC forever.

Anyone got any recommendations for purchases for RPGs on Origin or Steam?

You might try Kingdoms of Amalur on Origin. It's something I want to try out eventually.

You can get Battlefield 4 with 40% off.

That's quite a deal I dare say, considering the game is just out a month (and a great game unless it having its stability-issue period).

I'd only play if for the SP campaign and I imagine it's average, right?

Frankly, if you have a PC that can run Bf4 decent enough to really enjoy the eyecandy, then there's NO reason not to try the multiplayer.

The Bf4 SP campaign is very short. And though it's a generic and pretty clichee ridden war story, its focus is on the characters and they are surprisingly engaging. They do indeed feel alive, so I had my fair share of enjoyment from the SP mode.

But if you only look to play the SP, then no, even with 40% off it wouldn't be an appropriate price.

Yes, go to Steam, forget about Origin.

ME trilogy for $16 is tempting. It just galls me to have to buy the first 2 games again because my codes on Steam are broken.

I've never had Steam not recognize games I've bought. Then again, I've never had to wrangle with Steam's customer support, which is crap. As for the first two ME games, those are the two you need to own. Not the third. Just don't expect CDPR levels of writing and they will be fun.

That's a good idea. That's one I've been meaning to get as well.

There's a difference?

Just picked up DA2 myself. About time I played it.

Yes there is a difference. Origin now lets you return games, Steam does not.

It's not Steam's fault, I bought them before the changeover to Origin and afterward almost all my codes for Bioware games broke. For my games on disk, too.

Steam sales however offer much more games and similarily much more rabates.

If you're from the US, Origin charges you tax on all 50 states and Steam only does it if you live in Washingston state.

That's one of the reasons why I prefer buying most of my games on Steam and using Origin for only EA's Origin-exclusives.

Anyway, I'd definitely recommend Battlefield 4. If you want to buy the game for $20 + tax, here is how you do it.

Of course. How else will you play Civilization V and whatnot.

Once you look past the recycled maps DA2 is a pretty good game.

OK, that's a good point... though I suspect that loophole's going to be closed one of these days.
