She's OK. I tend to fast forward through the dialogue though. Liked her Homeworld comic much better. That renewed my interest somewhat.
The most annoying thing about Tali, ironically, is Shepard. Homeworld makes her stand on her own better. In the games, Shepard is the great savior saving the Quarians singlehandledly, through TPS gameplay. I hate how important I am in her eyes. And I hate how a lot of the dialogue revolves around this context. The Quarian storyline deserves a larger scale story, with more participants, imHo. This is sooo off the point though probably.

I kinda have an inkling where this stems form. You Probably play'd Femshep right? and since Tali is hitting on the best femshep LI(garrus) you just wanna kill off Tali. nice!
Garrus probably being the best Femshep Li. well since thane is dead, kaidan is gay, jacob ran off with another woman & the rest meh.
And Tali hitting on the most eligible bachelor aboard the Normandy! femshep has an axe to grind!

In any case, I'm not female and still prefer Garrus. I don't care about either one as an LI. Both of them are too weird looking, as far as that goes. I'm not "open minded" enough. lol. I actually like keeping Tali alive so Garrus hooks up with her. He needs somebody at least.

Can there be a third option by not saving either of them?.
Since I rarely recruit Garrus in ME1, Tali would die and on the suicide mission I would let Garrus die.

I'm not sure to be honest, as it depends on the circumstances.
In my canon playthrough of Mass Effect 1 I chose Ashley because Kaidan was the tech specialist, and I thought he'd be a better choice to babysit the bomb. When both characters were in danger of being overrun, I had Shepard go towards the AA Tower because there were more people in danger there. It was not just Ashley, but also the Salarians. I also figured that if Kaidan was about to be overrun he could trigger the bomb, and there wasn't much danger of the Geth disarming it.
Without getting metagamey whatever choice Shepard made would be influenced by in game events. If I did get metagamey I suppose I'd choose to save Garrus, since Ashley was saved the first time around, and maybe it shouldn't always be the girls that get rescued.

I didn't say anything about general dialogue content.
I'm talking about Garrus specifically. He was better in his creator's hands (Mac Walters). Jon Dombrow is great, but he started as a Mass Effect fan like the rest of us --- and I think it shows in the writing. Garrus in ME3 comes off like the work of a fanboy.
