Does anyone actually hope the Maker is a demon or something malevolent?

I do. Not because I think it would be a cool concept or whatever, more like because I want to see the aftermath of such a revelation.

Both in game, and on these forums.

The effect would be the same on here if Chantry dogma is 100% true. But I prefer it to be ambiguous.

Isn't there like 99 topics like this already, though? No offense.

I hope the makers "nature" is never revealed. I like that some mysteries stay that way.

What I like about Dragon Age is its openess to interpretation. That would pretty much be destroyed by revealing one of the major gods to be something as puny as a demon.

Fen'Harel is already malevolent according to the knife-ear heretics.

Im not saying anything against you,but I think most people that want a malevolent maker have an anti-chantry bias or want some god of war in their dragon age

OP: Nope. No more than I'd want the Chantry to be proven 100% right.

Or the Dalish to be 100% right or wrong.

Or the Mages/Templars to be 100% right or wrong.

The ambiguities make the series interesting.

Eh.. If the chantry did turn out to be 100% correct I'd still dislike them. Why? Because **** the Maker, what has he done for me lately?

I have no real interest in killing the maker, but I'm not gonna lie.

I do have quite a bit of anti-chantry bias. Though I do still give the chantry donations in my DA:O playthroughs.

I used to too, to tell the truth. But I've grown more and more sympathetic to the Chantry and its positions and less sympathetic to what Anders calls the "Mages' Plight".

This. Except I've rejected the Maker long ago.

I like a little mystery as well and would prefer the same.

Eh, I'm kind of bored of the "God is evil" thing. And honestly their story is that the Maker is just ignoring them, so you can't exactly call him a loving creator as it is.

I'd prefer it if the Maker was never shown to exist at all. But evil would be an okay consolation prize.

Eh. Evil or nonexistent is so cliche now. It's not edgy anymore. Ambiguity would seem best for me. Or the Chantry/Leliana being correct would be fun.

I'd rather have a maker that calls his chantry out for their BS

Or you can just let the Chantry and the Maker exist as a matter of faith just like real world religions and ignore the idea that every mystery in a game universe must be resolved.

Yeah but its a fantasy game. When it comes to gods, and stuff in medieval fantasy they're more often than not real in some form.

There are other Maker threads, so this one was unnecessary.
