Somewhere, it's said that the next Mass Effect is not confirmed for PC.  Is there any chance it'll only release on consoles?  (That'd really, REALLY suck.  I'm a PC gamer, and I know there's quite a few of us out there).  I'm assuming it WILL have a PC version...though I'd really like some confirmation on this.

Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere (I looked and looked and couldn't find it).

It better be on PC. But sounds like wild speculation. There should be no information on that this early into the development process. They probably don't even have a functioning level or environment at this point, and they'll still be modelling assets to be used. It's too early to get worried about that.

If they release a version for the xbox one, they'll release one for the PC. Their contract will be with microsoft as a whole, not just with the pc or console division.

It will be on PC. Every single released Frostbite 3 game has a PC variant. All platform dated upcoming Frostbite 3 games have a PC variant. Undated without platform, like Mirror's Edge 2, are expected to have a PC variant. And BioWare's own Frostbite 3 game Dragon Age: Inquisition has a PC variant.

Combined with the fact that every mainline Mass Effect game so far has been released on PC to positive critical and commercial success, I think you can safely say Mass Effect 4 will also be released on PC :P.

Ironically this wouldn't just be a portion of the fanbase, but also EA's investors wondering why the hell the publisher is throwing money away.

MEnext is a challenge to begin with. From what I've read here and there many people won't be buying it unless it gets super-extra-positive reviews because 1) they're disappointed with ME3 ending 2) they don't want to play without Shepard 3) they liked ME1-3 but they feel the story is over and/or don't like prequels, sequels, spinoffs.
Excluding the PC race from an already depleted fanbase would be a terrible idea.

Whenever there's fanbase rebellions, the majority of the people saying "I'm boycotting" will be the first in line to get the new product when it's out anyway. It's just internet-mentality. All those people who gave ME3 a 1/10 because the ending broke them, will probably get NextME regardardless because all they actually want is more Mass Effect, and as long as NextME isn't just a complete action game with less focus on story and choice, people will buy it for sure.

It'd better be on PC. I can't seem to stay away from the Mass Effect universe for very long as it is. New content is going to be sweet... but worth buying a console for?

It will be on PC for 100%.

AMD showed Mass Effect on a billboard durning Mantle official presentation as one fo the games using Frostbite 3 and therefore being on PC.

It would feel idiotic for them to show PC results with Mantle technology, display Mass Effect as one of the titles that will use this technology and then not having it on the PC...

EA are not big into exclusives.
I would imagine Mass Effect 4 will be developed for PC and next gen consoles.

I don't have any question that it wouldn't come to the PC, there is too much money invested in any game anymore to try and limit the audience unless a console maker has one of their developers making it or the console developer is bringing wheelbarrows of money to a developer/publisher (which is what I believe happened with Titanfall).

The other thing is since the game is being developed for FrostBite and not a custom engine I believe the majority of the work to get it to work on the PC is already done for the game engine has had games released for the PC already.

Somewhere?

Well, next Mass Effect really hasn't been officially confirmed for any specific platforms. Only that they're working on it. No reason to panic.

Not necessarily: RYSE is released for XBox only at this time.  (Likely soon 4 PC anyhow)

However, I agree:  I'm not buying a console version.  $$$ > words.

Almost entirely sure it'll be on PC.

Now how GOOD the PC version will be, I dunno.

I'm still amazed ME1-3 don't have controller support on the PC versions.

Ryse is published by Microsoft, so obviously they will use it as leverage to force people to buy their console.

Mass Effect is published by EA, so if anything they'll use it to get people to use Origin (like they did with ME3)

Now how GOOD the PC version will be, I dunno.

I'm still amazed ME1-3 don't have controller support on the PC versions.

So, you judge the quality of a PC port by whether or not they kept inadequate sub-par console controls which are forced to use autoaim because they lack precise pointing devices?

EA not releasing the next mass effect for pc would cause WROSE backlash than the whole endings fiasco, not sure how that's even possible now that I think of it.

if there's any hope of keeping origin alive you would think it would be on pc
