Alright let me tell you about what type of player i am , i am a Tankish Brute whenever i play a multiplayer game with my friends i always pick the guy that takes the most damage but i don't play them like i should . . i run into the thick of battle and take on as much enemies as i could while my friends take pod shots at them while the heat is on me.

now im speaking about all of the Mass Effect Games so in my full series playthrough which should i use Vanguard for the Charge power , or the Sentinel for the Tech Armor power?

if you can try to explain why i should use said class cause if you just say use this one then i won't understand why i should since you told me nothing on why i should use that class.

Its rather hard to be a "Tank" as a Vanguard in ME2 because your Charge cool down is, at best 5.1 seconds and the enemies are brutally accurate. There is a thread at the top of the strategy and build forum discussing Vanguard tactics right now and they basically advise NOT charging into the midst of the enemy, but picking off isolated ones, ducking into cover until your cool down is over then Charging another isolated enemy.

This all changes in ME3 where you can, and mostly should, Charge right into the middle of a horde. With the right weapon load out you can have your cool down around 3 seconds, perhaps a little longer, maybe 3.5. At any rate, you get a 4 second damage reduction after Charging of 50%. If you take Fortification as a bonus power you can have 90% damage reduction for 4 seconds after Charging. Combine that with a 3-3.5 second cool down on Charge and you can spend the entire battle with 90% damage reduction as long as you can find a new target to Charge within the 4 second window. You combine that with Nova and the Vanguard is best right in the middle of groups.

Sentinel is fairly tanky. Again, however, enemies are brutally accurate in ME2. Rather than being in the middle (where you will die no matter which class you play) it would be better to come in from a direction that allows you to take on one or two at a time. You can still get up in their face, but being "in the middle of the action" is a sure way to die.

In ME3 you can combine Tech Armor with Fortification for a 90% damage reduction. In this case you probably CAN be in the middle of the action. And where a Vanguard gets Nova, the Sentinel can explode his armor. So they can act similarly, just how they get into the middle of the action differs. The Sentinel has to run in, while the Vanguard uses Charge.

Mass Effect 1: Soldier since you can get Immunity plus Heavy Armor plus natural health regeneration. Or Infiltrator since you can also get Immunity plus Medium Armor. All classes can get health regeneration from armor mods.

Mass Effect 2: Sentinel with Tech Armor evolved to Assault Armor. Run in, Tech Armor explodes which staggers everyone + you get some shields back, shoot everything, re-apply tech armor and repeat. Vanguard if you want to Charge, shoot, shoot, charge, shoot, shoot everything. It really is a toss-up in ME2. It depends if you want to use a shotgun from the very beginning; Vanguards start with shotguns while Sentinel has to pick up shotgun training later in the game.

Mass Effect 3: Vanguard. Charge + Nova (Half Blast evolution) can steamroll everything. Sentinel's Tech Armor is just not as good anymore. As a Sentinel you can stack Tech Armor with another damage reduction power like Fortification or Barrier or Defense Matrix if you want, but Vanguard sounds more like your style in ME3.

One other note, I find the Sentinel's power set better than the Vanguard's in ME2. The Vanguard has shockwave and pull for crowd control, but no defense stripping power. The Sentinel has Throw which can be used for crowd control, Warp for armor and barriers, and Overload for shields. For someone who wants to shoot everyone in the face, Throw is a nice CC power for doing this. Use Throw to put them on their back then shoot them until the try to get back up, then Throw again and continue shooting.

In ME3 the Vanguard still doesn't have much in the way of pure defense strippers, but now Charge has a damage component, Nova can be evolved for extra damage to armor (shields too, I think), and Charge can be used as a detonator for combo's. So not only does Charge gain a damage component, but because it can trigger biotic, tech, cryo, and fire explosions, it is much, much more powerful.

The Sentinel class is boring because it's a mix of everything. Play the all the other classes first, the sentinel class is just a mix of  everything. I would only use it for Insanity if I wasn't confindent in my skill with the other class.
