Same reason as any woman? Companionship? Sex drive? Even with all her upgrades she still a human being. And in the end she ends up repelled by the whole experience, apparently.

I can however venture a hypothetical scenario. Let's say Meranda has this 'freind', who was in a serious relationship with a guy...let's call him Taylor Bocaj.
Meranda's friend and Bocaj were serious, and were going to go the distance. However Mira's friend discovered that she could not bare children due to 'abuse' she received as a child at the hands of her father. Bocaj, on the other hand always wanted a family of his own and isn't a 'good enough man' to stand by Mira's 'friends' side because of her infertility. He breaks off the relationship, leaving Meranda's friend feeling broken and hopelessly alone. Mera in an effort to make her freinds life better, is desperately searching the extranet for a man for her friend.
