One thing I intentionally do is to listen to a particular album, or set of songs, to a specific action (reading a book, traveling, working out, etc.). When I was younger I took a trip to Italy and Greece and listened to only one CD the whole time. Back then this wasn't intentional as I would focus on a single CD I was enjoying and listen to it until I would get tired of it (which could take weeks). Whenever I listen to the that CD again, I'm instantly taken back to what I was feeling when exploring Italy and Greece which was an incredible experience. Its hard to describe that feeling, but with the music its there and this was something I did in 1995. I could go on about books and other experiences or trials I went through I, but its the same thing. In only a few bars of music, I'm taken back to how I felt when I was reading the Silmarillion or how I felt in graduate school, etc.

I love orchestra, a well put together piece can get my heart dancing and put me in such an amazing mood so I completely get where you are coming from, and why you enjoy epic music.

I am somewhat a big day dreamer. So while listening to music I can make up whole stories in my mind or situation. Or sometime make me think of something that happenned in my life. Song can bring back nostalgia of situation that did happens at a specific time.

Like this song was my first romantic slow dancing with a  girl that I had a big crush on. I was like 10 years old ! Man that was  very awkward. I was red like an apple .

I'm a meathead so I love music during workouts. But I'm a nerd too, and that means lots of two steps from hell, awesome video-game music and LOTR xD

I have the scene of the Charge of Rohan converted to mp3. Everytime I listen to it I can picture every detail in my mind.

P.S Suicide Mission OST is amazing for High Intensity Interval Cardio.

At first, I read "meathead" as "metalhead". Then I thought we were practically identical.

Thank you for posting your video. I watched it and enjoyed hearing your thoughts. I learned that in Islam, music is seen as having an impact on your thoughts, emotions, behavior, etc. In my culture, music is part of day to day life, mostly in prayers and ceremony.

What I have found for myself, is I used to listen to music all the time but not anymore. I don't need it. I want quiet. Even while running. I used to listen to dance music to run but now I found when running without music, I can focus on my breathing and pace.

I see music as having a place and a time. I no longer listen to music all day. When I want to listen to music, I look for specific types.
