Visual part is very important. It makes the characters and the world alive.

Mass Effect 1 had repetitive worlds with poor visual landscapes but great sidequests and semi-coherent writing.
Mass Effect 2 and 3 tried to give decent landscapes but removed nearly all writing from sidequests and the writing was incapable of following itself.

Any attempt of graphics whatsoever means poor writing.

We can all point out terrible things with every game. DA:O's plot is incredibly simplistic. Bethesda still hasn't managed to portray anything morally ambiguous in TES. TW suffers from Bioware-esque power fantasies (killing kings? Geralt being magical special so the Wild Hunt wants him?) and delves into that most nonsensical of plots, time travel (TW1 mostly).

Wallowing in it does no one any good. Point out improvements.

Bah.  The series had its rough spots later on, but the first season and Return of the Joker are plenty solid.

Fite me IRL!
I can say the same of the first two, 3 just had way more things I didn't like to the point were it was no longer enjoyable.

The rest of you need to show Batman Beyond some respect.

With Mass Effect, it felt like Bioware borrowed all the wrong elements from Baldur's Gate 1.

Those elements were the best part of ME.

Their lack diminished the sequel tremendously.

Is not TV that box that gives story without gameplay? Why are so many asking for that in a computer or console game. Every bit of creativity really has to be thrown out of the window for shallow short adrenaline rush thingie and mostly with those dreadfull zombies too!!!!

One day they're going to make a game with graphics that are too good, and it'll have the same effect on people as the ark of the covenant in raiders.

You know, Seival, I just noticed something: your opinions on the game B:TS aren't even your own; it's mostly just a regurgitation of David Cage's talking points.

This is a very predictable. You've shown that you care more about graphics above all else and whether or not the game is mo-capped by well known actors. I bet that in five years when you do another one of your "Best Game Ever" threads, we'll likely be seeing you referring to games like B:TS and TLoU as "old games [that] can cause nothing but a silly smile" b/c of the fact that "they are too old and outdated on all possible levels" compared to whatever game w/ the shiniest graphics you're gushing over in five years.

And another thing, Seival, you want a medium w/ great graphics and notable actors? Why don't you go watch TV or movies? Just look how realistic a TV or movie is nowadays. No mo-cap required, mang, b/c it's just that damned good (and redundant). And the graphics? Forget about it, homes. Get a Netflix account (you can access Netflix on your PS3) and be prepared to be blown away by an endless selection of films and TV series w/ breathtaking graphics that are to die for. Video games don't hold a candle to TV or film and they won't be able to do sue for likely decades if not centuries, I tell you.

Now you might be a little concerned over the lack of gameplay w/ TV shows and movies, but have no fear; that is totally not a problem. The reason is that if you enjoyed B:TS, a game that is comprised mostly of cutscenes and "gameplay" where you can put the controller down and still win. You're pretty much 90% there, homie. When you've found a movie or TV show you watch, you just hit he X button on your PS3 controller, put down the controller, and watch all the action unfold and the emotions overtake you. You'll probably end up creating a thread w/ the title "Avengers is the Greatest Video Game Ever" and everyone will be like, "No, that's not even a video game," but **** them b/c they don't know what you know. You're mother****ing Seival, vato!

DA:I is going to be a good next-gen game. So, let's not judge the game by pre-alfa based videos, and hope for the following things in release:

 - Best possible facial motion capture for all facial expressions and talking.
 - Best possible gestures/move/attack motion capture, and as many variants of all of that as possible.
 - Best possible motion captured sequences for all dialogue scenes and cut-scenes.

In a next-gen game characters shouldn't look like or act like a dolls. A lot of good actors' work can make them truly alive.

I'm not talking about turning DA:I into an interactive movie. But visual quality of the same level as in The Last of Us, for example, is simply required for a next-gen game. Even if it's an RPG with much larger amount of dialogues and cutscenes.

But Seival, TLoU is running on the PS3's ancient hardware. That is an awfully low bar to be setting for a "next gen game," but if that is your standard I can happily report that DA:I and the Frostbite 3 engine will likely easily exceed it.

I am also curious as to why TLoU is your next gen measuring stick when there are many PC games that came out before it and slaughter it in the graphics department.

Good question. And imagine, that instead of creating those excess things, devs could spend more time to improve main plot and the characters...

What you seem to be arguing is they not only strip out those side missions but also strip out all the options in how to develop the charcter in the main story for some shiny things. Take out what brings people to the BIoWare label for some MoCap and shiny graphics.

Sacrifice depth for superficial bs.

Not all the options. Only the excess ones. DA:I will never become B:TS. But it still can use much more improvements in visual part regarding the characters performance quality in cost of some things that are not needed for good storytelling and modern RPG game in general.

In short - less feature creep, more production quality, please. This is all I'm asking for here. This is a quite fair request for a AAA game.
