Would you kill templars in DA3 if doing so stopped the creation of red templars?

No freedom for everybody without religion getting in the way.

What about religious freedom?

Maybe the current Tevinter isn't all bad maybe fenris is just a bitter annoying loser from a dying species and only purpose for being in DA2 was to offset anders or maybe the current Archon in Tevinter is more powerful then the previous ones and is trying to save the imperium and amend past mistakes but a few of the other magister don't like it and are to scared to lose slaves because they have been relying on them so much.

Maybe you have no evidence for this speculation while I can, right this very instant, post a letter penned by a Magister where she sacrifices a young girl and talks of replacing her as if she was mobiliary.
Tevinter is scum. Period.

Maybe that magister was just a raving lunatic with no connection to the current Archon who is trying to stop such things but with people like her its difficult to fully do such a thing.

Honestly, let's try to tackle this whole notion that normal people don't like mages because the Chantry tells them to.
It's actually the other way around. The Chantry's policies are a direct result of being created by a culture of people that spent millenia living under the opression of magic and violently ovethrew their magical opressors.
Basically, the beliefs of the Chantry didn't appear out of nowhere. They exist because the normal people of Thedas just don't bloody like mages rather than the other way around.

im surprised no one mentioned this, medieval europe was heavily superstitious, thedas would be doubly so because magic exists: Crops fail burn the mage, stillbirth burn the mage, plauge burn the mage, that the solution of the common people no circles just fire.

Where exactly is it said that the current Archon is trying to change anything?
In fact, Lambert who was a friend of the current Archon claims that he is just like all others: corrupt and willing to do anything to anyone in order to keep his power.

Can we imagine one of the Divines was trying to reform things as well, but was killed by a blood mage? :innocent:

So, you get to decide which freedoms are acceptable and which are not.

So, basically, you get to decide which freedoms are needed and which are not.
What exactly gives you the right or capability to determine which freedoms will only cause problems and which will not?

And why exactly is it that the word of a Seeker that witnessed first hand magical opression can't be trusted?
By that same logic, I can say all Circle mages are biased and their words regarding life in the Circle can't be trusted.

Or maybe they were just a bunch of people who sniffed the opportunity to jump in the Andrastian wagon to get themselves a powerful position. For a non-mage that is.

The chantry already proves religion will be nothing but trouble and used as an excuse to lock mages up or silence anyone that doesn't agree with them

Well if he actually witnessed every mage in Tevinter cutting themselves and doing blood magic for every little thing then yeah that would be different.

If that's all the chantry did then there wouldn't be a problem but they don't.

So kill everyone is your answer? Anyone who believes in andraste and the maker gets to go into a ditch and get shoot and buried in mass?

That is the answer you propose to this problem, and that is why you are a liar in saying you aren't a dictator. Because only a dictator uses fear and death as a means of persuading others to their side.
