As EA support is completely useless, I thought I'd try asking here (The PC Technical Support section is closed).
I'm having trouble with the sound in the game, especially with the cutscenes. As the topic title states, I'm using a standard 2 channel headset (Sennheiser) with a RealTek onboard HD audio (using just the little green jack at the back).
It's like the game is directing much of the sound to a center channel which does not exist. The dialogue in the cutscenes is mostly echos, and then there's some sound that is absurdly loud that does make it to the 2 audio channels that I have. Now, in the masseffect3config.exe program, I've set the audio to "Default", and in my realtek driver control panel, it's set to stereo. Yet the game still tries to run in 5.1. Why is this?
Is there anyway to force ME3 to run in 2 channel/stereo? No other game I own has this problem.

Since no one's responded, I think I figured it out. If anyone should encounter this issue in the future, and are google searching to no success.
I enabled 5.1 anyway, but, in the RealTek control panel, found a way to disable all other speakers except the front 2. All sound is thus directed to just the 2 available channels. Clever.
