" For the exact purposes of this definition, I don't consider story based games or QTE button mash simulators to be games. Examples of games include Counter Strike, Comman and Conquer, Dota, Tetris. "
Where in the hell does he say "these are the games I like"?
Well, since he would consider stuff he doesn't like as "games", the fact he referred to the listed games as "games" gives the impression to me that he likes them.
Also, those listed games are highly competitive (well Tetris doesn't really count as competitive, but it certainly is chellenging), which serves to reinforce my impression.

Great now there are aloof game elitists who "are above fun" when playing "games". Please, give me a break. If you aren't playing video GAMES for fun then you just take yourself way too seriously.
Depends. I would say that video poker deserves to be taken seriously to the point of not having fun. That does not mean playing video poker should not be a "fulfilling" experience, of course. I derive intense satisfaction from "figuring out" an opponent, even though I am terrible at such an activity.

Used to be a one of the two iconic RTS franchises along with StarCraft, first developed by Westwood Studios, later acquired by EA, but is now more or less dead with the last game they had cancelled out of the blue (due to internal business bogus as opposed to their official claim of negative alpha feedback (I can tell because I was an alpha tester!)) and its development studio closed and all staff laid off.
And the correct title would be "Command and Conquer", TO made a little typo.
Ironically, for most of the time CnC was known for its iconic storylines and actually had more players buy and play those games for its singleplayer (which to be fair could be challenging on higher difficulty levels, but was far from its competitive MP scene!), with MP players only really getting a major surge in numbers with the Generals game of the franchise (which again ironically, wasn't considered a true CnC by many hardcore due to its complete lack of a cohesive singleplayer story).

I'm sure the OP wouldn't have any sort of experience with that kind of thing. Wondering if other folks here have though.

I can get behind not playing games simply because they're fun. However, the OP says that he doesn't play games for fun, then states that he plays for fun gameplay.

You clearly do not know Codex. OP would be torn limb from limb on codex, the shame they'd be put through for such a pretentious post would cause their unborn children to be shut-ins and hide from the light.

I just baked some cookies, OP, would you like one?
I'll take one! But I don't eat cookies for the delicious taste. I do it to excercise my jaw and from that, is where taste is derived.
Taste is not the intended product, it's a result of good chewing.

I'm pretty sure Ares recommended with exactly that result in his mind ...

Once, I did this thing when watching a cutscene and a character said a humorous line, where my mouth opened really wide, and I produced loud noises from my abdominal area uncontrollably, and my face got really tight so my mouth made a upwards turned C like shape until I was out of breath.
I'm sure the OP wouldn't have any sort of experience with that kind of thing. Wondering if other folks here have though.

Odd, because the only CnC game I've ever played and am ever interested in playing is that one, and I only did MP when my friends requested it. I enjoyed the campaign greatly. The realism helps a ton.
