Gameplay itself may take part in the inclusion of fun in the game, yes.

But it may also depend on who your playing with, the impact of the story, or your general attitude when approaching it.

I read books for fun. They help the ol' noggin, but they're fun too.

You're taking life too seriously. Get wasted, smoke a blunt. GMag could help you out.

But meh, it's your opinion. I fall asleep 80& of the time if a game offers no narrative :-)
