Well I would wish for either of these two things:
1. The ability to completely customize my Inquisitorial forces (armor, weapons, colors, races, etc) and control them in large scale battles (Think Kingdom Under Fire). I would love to ability to recruit Werewolves, Golems, Sylvans, Awakened, Dragons, Griffons, etc. into my army and to upgrade and level up my units on the the field, as they gain experience.
Essentially, I would want to have a robust RTS system in place, in addition to all of the RPG elements.
OR
2. A very well done, and integrated co-op multiplayer mode. One where I can play as the fantasy creatures of the setting, complete with unique animations, powers, abilities, and play styles. I would love to be able to charge into battle playing as a Malibari Warhound (or something equally 'non-human') running along side my Dwarven Templar, and Dalish Archer, it would be glorious.
The MP would allow for in depth customization of your character (including the fantasy creatures) and the amount of variety would ensure that even two players going into battle as Human Mages, could employ completely different powers and strategies on the battlefield.

I have some weird compulsion to absolutely change his mind and turn him back in to old Anders. It won't go away. It's not the most important thing, but right now my mind is all "ANDERSANDERSANDERSANDERS". Plus I need to know about what happened to my Hawke and Anders after they ran off together in my playthrough. I NEED to.

Noah Antwhiler as one of the voices for the companions, he's probably dirt cheep and funny to boot.
Since you so kindly posted that - Ultima VII's Black Sword.
Realistically though, less moments that either force the player into an absolutely negative option due to the writer's viewpoint (ie, refusing Anders as Male Hawke earns you mucho rival points - there are two approve options and one refuse, and the refuse makes you sound like an absolute ******. The pro-gay nature of that is kind of obvious, yes?) or make the player/character unable to put two and two together. Anders again is another example here - my Mage Hawke should not be completely inept as to the nature of the ingridents he's gathering to make the bomb.
DA2 was rife with moments that forced you into looking either awful or inept. And keep in mind I generally like DA2.

My second choice would be a full masked ball where the Warden and Hawke are seen leaving together or someone saw them leave and make mention of it.

So my wish was already granted, really.
I suppose my new one will be: I want to absolutely love or love to hate the majority of the companions in Inquisition. I want them to be better written, better developed, and react better than even the companions in Dragon Age Origins.

I've always thought the same thing, but when you think about it there is a big chance a warrior smashing his hammer against a chest might break the chest and whatever is inside, same for a mage. It would be pretty cool if they DID allow every class to learn lockpicking, I dislike how you were required to bring a Warrior for tanking, Mage for healing, and Rogue for lockpicking in every single game.AutumnWitch wrote...

All classes to able to open locks.
You see a small locked, wooden chest is in the corner of he room.
BIG STRONG WARRIOR: Well I don't have a key...I suppose there is nothing I can do with my big old awesome strength and HUGE steel weapons that can crush several monsters at one time.
MIGHTY MAGE: Gee My spells that can rain death upon dozens and slay demi-gods is useless too...not like I can do anything that might hurt a simple wood chest.
90 POUND LEVEL ONE ROGUE: No worries I got it. Good thing I picked up that set of lock tools available at every single vendor in Thedas!
MIGHTY MAGE & BIG STRONG WARRIOR: Yay! We are saved!!!

swords and heavy armor for mages and ability to forge weapons and armors with magic fire(weapons as iron daggers will cut steel swords and armor as butter) as Glim do
Mages have already been confirmed to be able to wear heavy armour and it sounds like they are bringing some sort of melee mage type like palidan or arcane warrior from what they said in one of the podcasts.
We won't be able to forge or create things in general since they've already confirmed we can't craft potions, forge things, etc ourselves we have people for that though we don't know the exact extent of it but I doubt it will work like how you are talking about, and adding fire effects and stuff like that is the enchanters job.
We can, enhance armour and change armour color, chage grips and make weapons better also eventually your crafting level will improve to a point where you can take any armour you like an take it apart and remake it anyway you want to which will have stats on par with basic endgame stats.

Such as an Ant like race.
--> When Demons that came through the rift could not find a host they inhabited the denizens of a termite mound making some bizarre and enlarged creatures with demonic attributes. However the mentality of the Termites was never truly lost and they now live in powerful colonies seeking out food to maintain themselves whether it be flesh or wood. That could be a creepy new additions =D
