I heard about this a while ago. I picked up Rune Factory 4 after hearing it was "Secret of Manimal Crossing." While it didn't quite live up to what that portmanteau suggests, I still enjoyed it. Well, I'm still playing it, off and on. Just triggered the third storyline, but now everyone has looped back around to old dialogue and it's getting stale.

And Lufia... the two snes games were fantastic. No idea why they went all weird with the DS remake.

At any rate, it's always sad to see a developer go under, especially at this time of year.

Never played Rune factory, though I've wanted to for a while now. I was definitely going to get 4 when it finally released in the UK, though now I'm not too sure what this means for it after hearing the news a couple of days ago.

Sad to see any decent developer go really. Hopefully someone will pick up the IP.

Never heard about the game before. Is it good?

It's one of my favorite game series of all time, so yes. The first one is kinda meh though. If you want to give it a try I suggest you start with the third game.

The european localisation for Rune Factory 4 has indeed been cancelled, no doubt as a consequence of the bankruptcy.

A real shame. I was quite looking forward to picking it up and trying the series out.

And the stupid region lock means I can't import it from the US either.

Aye. Annoying to think that something as daft as that is all that's stopping it from being played here, the translation being done and all.

Nintendo really need to lose the region locking. The other consoles have.
