Of using Biotics now? I understand there was a overhaul of Tech & pure Tech classes added but getting a Biotic Squad is like having a fair 1-on-1 with a Phantom host.

I love running my VanillaHuman. He's one of my favorite characters to play. I do admit that in my initial PUG session I'll start with someone beefy just because of the expectation of needing to clutch at some point. But once I know I'm with a decent group I'll bring out the adept for some fun

Last two matches I had were biotic. DA, fury and AA.

But you mean BE squad or any biotic power squad say a vanguard squad with more tech ammo detonations?

The thing is there are fewer combinations of characters that would lead to an all biotic style BE squad - you've only got adepts, huntress and the odd sentinel.

Even most vanguards do more with tech ammo/explosions on their own, being mainly detonators. Sure, having one or two with an adept works, but not on their own. Soldiers, infiltrators and engineers and many sentinels can all be heavily tech focused, again helped by ammo powers.

Then it also doesn't help that there's less apparent variety in BEs than TEs - I know stasis does different things to a warp BE for example, but the sound/visual effect is all the same - in that way there's very few unique combos you can make of a biotic squad. After a couple of matches with any combination of adepts, you've pretty much seen enough for one day - tech/combat and combat focused biotics don't have that limitation.

Why the hell would people be afraid to use Adepts, N7 Fury is one of the strongest classes in the game, I remember constant days of topping with that, it was too easy so I dropped it and don't use it anymore.

Come to think of it , Haven't played with many adepts lately though, a Few Volus's, Furys, And The Occasional A.C.A ..

Sometimes the Drelldept, Idk. Definetely haven't gotten a full biotic team lately though.

But maybe they've also realized that some of the adepts get boring after a while?
I mean ... that's why I got bored of the fury, Turn on A.F, Hit something with Dark Channel, Throw. Rinse & Repeat. Gets boring.

Yeah, I hesitate to take biotics off-host into random pugs -- fear being the only one among soldiers and tech classes (no synergy). If I host or play with people who can wait for a change-up, no problem -- love playing with one or more biotics.

Sounds like you're playing it wrong TBH.

You're supposed to hit them with DC, then run right up to them into AF range and Claymore them in the face, then Throw.


Personally I just play whatever I feel like playing or whatever character can take advantage of the consumables I have the most of. If that's a biotic kit, then that's what gets used. I'm too lazy to bother changing kits to try and create some kind of perfect team for PUGs who probably won't be working together anyway.

It happens from time to time for me, people using biotics.

Me, I usually switch to another non-biotic class if more than 1 person joins with an ammo power that'll disrupt my BEs all the time.

In platinum mode? I'll pass, I'd rather not go down 30 times, Sure the AF stumbles enemies, But still. It's not my preferred play type. You could still top score how I described it, and i'm sure you could carry in your way too, But I just don't like that tbh, Plus the claymore is so uglyyyyy in terms of weight + 1 shot? eh.. What if you miss? You're F'ed ! Guess that's what her teleport is for, but ehh ... still, alotta room for error like that in plat unless you're a pro, which i'm assuming you probably are . So wouldn't matter for you, but .. eh
