And this is why sometimes I understand why Bioware just ignores the ME forum.

I think that dev should've trolled harder (should've said the Normandy blows up right after taking off in the end), there's clearly not enough butthurt in here.

If anything,BW listens too much to the fanbase. That's how we got moronic things like the Tali/Garrus romance and the second ever Asari matriarch we bump into "just happening" to be Liara's other parent.

Also, sans ending, ME3 is an anti-cerberus paragon xenophile's wet dream.

In their defense Tali was supposed to be a LI in ME1

I thought he meant the Tali-Garrus hookup in ME3 if neither are romanced.

How is that listening too much to the fans? I would have pointed out the sexbot first

To be honest, I thought the Tali/Garrus romance (or at least, the idea of it, if not the execution) wasn't such a bad idea. This kind of thing should probably have happened more often, if anything. It's preferable to the characters seemingly putting their own lives on hold simply so they can be romantically available to the awesome PC.

agreed....I would not have minded having to fight Alenko for Liara's affections

So true, I loved the Tali/Garrus hook up. I also liked how in ME1 if you're a butthole to ash she and her sister mention how cute Kaidan is and not Shepard. It would have been awesome to have two companions already to together and the PC could either break them up by romancing one or not interfering. overall, we need more companion/companion hook ups.

Xenophilia is a part of the entire franchise from the start anyway, even if the beginning only has the asari. It's no more idiotic than, say, Star Trek's use of this theme. I thought they were both well done, in any case. The tango scene in Citadel is chock full of corn, but still.

Its why these endings are worse the ones we actually got.

"Dark energy is bad and needs to be gotted rid of"

I can see the yo dawg meme now, and unlike the current one it'd actually be justified.

With the way the rough drafts depict it? Definitely- the idea that dark energy is a cummulative problem makes the cycle really stupid since, if the Reapers were serious about stopping it, they'd kill everyone beforehand.

But if ME tech were truly the dominant tech path of all in-universe tech trees, and if Dark Energy buildup were something that dissipated over, say, 50,0000 years, so that the cycle resets the clock? Then giving exceptionally efficient ME dark energy tech would be a way to (a) mitigate the rate of buildup, and (B) set the trap to close it quickly. Not building relays, if ME tech is still dominant, just means a decentralized galaxy of dark energy producers- much harder to stop.

As an anti-Cerberus xenophile, even I found the Cerberus change silly.  I never bought into TIM's claim of being a paternal  guardian of humanity, but I also never expected him to go full-on Bond villain.

He kind of already had all the trappings of a Bond villain in ME2 anyway.

Hmm, politically speaking, that might be the area where I'm the least displeased. I'm anti-Cerberus, but still pro-human to an extent. And wanted to help the other races that were shut out by the Council (Krogan, for one). I got that. And I got to be pro-human somewhat by preserving the Ascension project, and helping some of the elements I liked about the Alliance. Yet somehow it still rubs me as a xenophile's game, on the social level.

I still see Cerberus as the goofy loons they were back in ME1, the pro-human group who fed humans to Thresher Maws to find out how humans react to being digested by Thresher Maws. What an inspiring guardian for mankind.

I figured they were actually looking for someone like Shepard. Maybe they heard how Krogan test themselves, and wanted a human soldier like that. Who resisted the pain and acted all Evil Kneivel on those Thresher Maws, and maybe leapt from one to the other like a badass, and ran like a mofo. Or something equally amazing. Like it kicked in ungodly survival instincts and adrenaline. Or maybe it kicked in biotic abilities (like Jack's torture did). Either that, or maybe Shepard just doesn't fear anything afterwards.

Not to condone it. Just saying. Maybe it had a benefit.

I can't help but feel that if mankind really was traversing the galaxy as it was in the MEU, and there was a galactic community and all the deadly space creatures like the thorian, rachni and thresher maws, there'd be a fair share of human beings that want to test and study them extensively, and who knows how far some would go.

Back when ME2 came out a LOT of people called out the idea that the Illusive man was just 'putting on a front' with the Normandy SR2, hiding his organization's true colors, and that he filled it with a bunch of familiar or friendly faces.

Hell there is banter that the crewmembers don't really know much about Cerberus and just joined to save the colonies. This pops back up again in ME3 where they finally come out and say it, but it was absolutely referenced prior.

Bioware never changed Cerberus: they were always bad guys. If you missed the referencing dialogue shame on you.
