Over at GameZone, they spoke to Casey Hudson on exploring and landing on Earth. Here is a clip of his thoughts,

"I think there’s potential in some of the
downloadable missions in the future and things like that....You want to see, ‘What’s happening on Earth?’ What’s it like because a whole
world. It’s so big. There are so many questions you want answered what Earth is
like in this fiction. But we do plan do go there at some point, but just not
yet.”

Here's a link to the article.

It looks like a trip to Earth is in Mass Effect's inevitable future.

Cool. I've got a gut feeling they'll save it for 3 though as opposed to putting it into DLC.. but doesn't make much difference.

Sweet, I've always been curious as to what's been going on with Earth. :)

I think it would be interesting to see Earth play an important role in the third one. Like maybe there is something located on our planet that is significant to the reaper invasion.

But do you get to visit future Earth very often? The novels imply that Texas is a third world country and India is powerful and rich in ME universe, for example.
I'm pretty interested in seeing what Earth is like in ME. If there is DLC set on Earth I'm sure it's just some unimportant backwater though, and the really interesting parts only come available in ME3.

Heh well if we do see earth I think we wouldn't see a city, but something like say Area 51 or a base in Antartica

I'd imagine its being saved for some pivotal mission in the third. I would definately be interested in some ME2 dlc set there though.

Unfortunately you are right. Some people are just so touchy... make others suffer to make themselves feel better.
