The Qunari will kill you first. Dwarkin works on his explosive powder, and if you do that quest to its completion in Awakening, we hear rumors of the Qunari hunting him, intending to kill him because he was so successful with his research that his explosives began to rival theirs.

The qunari are only so powerful, if a nation like Orlais developed it the qunari would have a hard time dealing with it.

And yet Mark of the Assassin makes it clear that the Qunari have sleeper-agents in all nations of Thedas, including Orlais.

As someone who has lived in communist states for a while...Yes the Circle is exactly like this.

Circle is pure evil. My Inquisition will do everything in its power to destroy it.

So?  They may be able to slow other nations getting the technology but its only a matter of time before it happens.  Hell all it would take would be one defeat at the hands of Tevinter.

It'll get out eventually, maybe independently discovered, Tal Vasoth, Tevinter captures some cannons, etc...

If they were, I think people would be able to figure it out without the help of a list. :?

Of topic, but I'm curious if you know the origins of this particular phrase.

Plutarch's Apophthegmata Laconica
The original phrase was "calling a fig a fig, and a trough a trough"

I have this image in my head now of horned qunari putting on massive wigs and fake beards and passing as ordinary humans.

That should be a quest.

"Greetings, bas. I seek to purchase one of your human head coverings."

"You mean a hat?"

"... Yes."

"That'll be 5 coppers."

"Done... Panahedan."

"What a nice man. And so tall!"

How does this make mages obsolete? Even at this reseach's fruition, the mages would still have the advantage.

not for long.  Mages won't be so special when anyone can point and shoot a cannon to do similar damage, it'll also make the templars job a lot easier

I hope that this cannon can summon demons for when these mages get desperate. I also hope that these cannons have unlimited ammo, etc.

This isn't 15th Century Europe. Gunpowder is slightly less spectacular when you can project lightning from your hands.

Sorry, I'm on Team Mage.

IT SURE WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT IF SOMEONE DIDN'T LET A QUNARI AGENT WALK AWAY WITH THAT LIST
