Well there's good different - like giving out free balloon animals on sanctioned holidays - and bad different, like forced breeding programs.

It might not be 'worse' than any other society in Thedas, but it's not the least bit surprising that someone in real life, approaching it from a modern perspective, would find it grossly unappealing.

Meh. I can take it or leave it with okra. I prefer sauteed brussel sprouts more. Little bit of garlic and some butter with black pepper. Nice and simple.

Okra looks weird man. Though I've never had asparagus either. And the first time I saw it it was on a Kids Next Door episode. That episode did not leave me with a favourable impression of asparagus.

Yeah, I actually hate mushrooms. They freak me out.

I've lived in Irmo, SC my entire life. But still I hate:

Okra.
Shellfish.
Seafood in general.
Fried Chicken.
Kool-Aid.
Country Music(understandable)
Most pork, especially barbecued

Need I go on? I have lots more. Except Pepsi and Cheerwine, must of the stuff from here is stomach rotting.

I've never particularly liked these kinds of scenarios. It's too easy for storytellers to 'prove' one society is better. And it naturally tends to rely on a lot of telling and not a lot of showing.

If it helps, the devs have stated that they wouldn't necessarily want to live in Qunadar. They just thought it'd be a nice thought experiment, apparently.

I look at societies like Caesar's Legion in New Vegas and think they really ought to be falling apart. From what I've heard about the qunari, it sounds kind of like the same mold.

Not really. I mean, starting that whole thing up would have been pretty touch-and-go, and I would like to know how Koslun stopped it from being corrupted from the start, but now that they've got the indoctrination machine set up and have been running it for hundreds of years with (seemingly) genuinely brainwashed people, I'd think it would be self-sustaining.

What? Fry it with some garlic, melted butter, and black pepper. It's delicious, espeically if you chop them in half so all the leafs end up nice and soft and the core softens up just right and gets that nice brownish coloring.

Portabello/Cremini mushrooms are god tier imo, though that's cause I cook a lot of itallian food.

Never tried shiitake though, even growing up with japanese grandparents.
