Okra looks weird man. Though I've never had asparagus either. And the first time I saw it it was on a Kids Next Door episode. That episode did not leave me with a favourable impression of asparagus.

I hated asparagus as a kid, until my grandmother started pouring melted cheese over it.  I love it now, cheese or no (though I still usually pour cheese on top).  Though asparagus is expensive enough here that I usually only eat it when I'm splurging to make asparagus casserole, which if I'm being honest is mostly asparagus-flavored cheese.

My family has a history of seafood allergy. I've never actually tried it for that reason.

What? Fry it with some garlic, melted butter, and black pepper. It's delicious, espeically if you chop them in half so all the leafs end up nice and soft and the core softens up just right and gets that nice brownish coloring.

I lived in the South for 28 years but never really got around to eating varmint animals (kind of a shame since my Dad was an "anything but" judge, if that means anything to you).  What does possum taste like?

You make the liquid into a powder, and then sprinkle it on fried dough.

it was...different.  It was much more gamey than other meat (unsurprisingly) and it aslo was very flavorful.

I didn't know what it was until after but I don't regret it.
