Well, you did mention having a mage use his sword for combat.

It is probably a sword that can channel magic, similar to Spellweaver. So it doubles as a staff and sword.

2) It's not that he looks ugly. He doesn't seem to be ugly ( at least to me). It's that he looks sick.

Nothing at all,. Much of the world just seems to be stuck on the concept that being beautiful is everything though. Bigger breast sizes for women, ripped abs for men, etc.

Lambert doesn't have to try look like badass he is badass he crushed mages like bi*** ,mages may look badass but when it comes about showing that they end beaten on the ground in most situation crying for mercy and talking how they had hard lifes.

As far mages what showed something were only my pc's  

But still lambert is ugly fu*** yet i still like him.

I don't consider Marv to be "ugly" he is average at best. I'm sure lots of women who likes masculine looking guys would jump all over him.

Well considering that Hawke only took out a mundane in that scene, your point is wasted. And a mage, can melt the knife in seconds, deflect it, grab it with force magic to send it flying back, or a million other things to completely negate what you are trying to do.
