Pretty curious did anyone used that thing for ME3.

I don't mean just try it to see does it really work and/or for a short while. I mean for like large portion if playthrough, if not entire playthrough.

And does anyone uses it even today?

Haven't played ME3 for a month or two while I wait for a sale on Citadel, but whilst I was playing I would regularly use voice commands.

I'd predominantly use voice commands to activate ammo powers, switch weapons on my squadmates, medi-gel, or use those secondary abilities I didn't have space to map to my controller. Generally, voice commands work fine for me, though I find that shorter commands tend to go off more reliably ('pull' almost always goes off, whilst 'James, frag grenades' is less reliable). The problem arises when you try to use a targeted power with a lengthy command; by the time you finish speaking the command, the target may have dodged out of your reticule/shot you dead. I ended up making adjustments by changing which powers I would hotkey: I would use James' carnage more often than frags, but since saying 'carnage' is faster (and reliably works), I'd hotkey the grenades. By making a few such adjustments, I've been able to greatly reduce the amount of time spent in the power wheel and increase my enjoyment of the gameplay.

Occasionally I speak the conversation options, but that's generally because I have a cup of tea in hand or am otherwise feeding my face...

I wouldn't recommend buying a kinect exclusively for its ME3 functionality though (unless you get it really cheap - I got mine for £25 a year or so ago, and have seen them for as little as £10). If you do own one it's well worth giving it a go, even if it doesn't work so well for you.

I thought that it was brilliant for squad commands, but never really got on with using it for dialogue selection, although both worked really well.

Do you have to phrase every word of the dialogue selection?

Nah, I'm a PC gamer.

Even though there is a PC version of Kinect, I'm disinterested in getting one ever.

I was just very curious was this function used a lot, even if only small amount of people used it.

I tried it once. Most of the time, the game's own audio would make the Kinect do things

I can imagine some people using 'kinect' which is not so revolutionary option, as Tom Clancy's End War has first version aka prototype of voice commands.
Good thing that Bioware did not make romace scenes better with kinect :P

Hell no, the thing sucks. It sucks even more the new Xbox basically forces that stupid thing on you, and that crap ups its price by 100 $.

When the voice commands worked they worked great.

The problem is that for me the voice recognition was very hit and miss, I'd have to try several different accents for different commands for it to recognise me.

I tried it the first time I played and either the bolded happened or my kids entered the room and talked to me and made it do stuff.  I didn't much like it and unplugged it.  Then I broke it (oops)  :)

I only have an Xone, but the set up process calibrated my voice against the TV volume at high settings somehow. I don't know if 360 Kinect does the same setup, but so far, this version seems to differentiate audio sources.

Yes, you have to say every word of the dialogue option. Or at least make it sound like the dialogue choice.

That's pretty cool actually.

Although, I suppose this is one explanation for slimmer dialogue choices compared to ME2. :\\

edit: lol, just ignore the second part. Not trying to incite an argument about that.

Sad person that I am ME3 was actually one of the main reasons I bought Kinect. Ordering squad members around was one of the least used functions in ME2 as you had to momentarily stop what you were doing with your Shepard to hit the 'D' pad. Using voice commands made it very natural to really take charge of your squad. Gameplay was just so much better. Hope more games go this way.

"Liara singularity (nothing) ...Liara singularity (nothing) ...Lee-Arr-Ah Sin-Gu-Lar-It-Ee (nothing)....For ****s sake you ****ing piece of **** (singularity appears)"

When it works it's awesome, but when it doesn't it will make you want to punch the screen. I use it mainly for dialogue choices because it means I can do stuff (make a drink, check my phone, etc) during cut-scenes rather than sitting there with the controller in my hands...and you don't have to read out the entire choice, you only have to say the first two words.
