I'm just hoping for a wholesale overhaul of the leveling system. Why is it all xp gets dumped in the same bucket? Does killing a bunch of mooks really make me more persuasive or a better lock pick or better at crafting.
Having more things to do in the game than talk and fight would contribute greatly to a more diverse leveling system. Wanna make better potions? Work at the apothecary. Wanna get better at combat? Fight in a tournament. Wanna get better at persuasion? Play diamondback. Need to improve your stealth? Pickpocket.
Of course hacking away at the inquisitors enemies could still be used to attain higher levels in these and other categories, along with acquiring new talents, but activities like these could be a means to add permanent bonuses to the associated talents and abilities.
Fable II and Borderlands 1 & 2 are good points of reference. Fable II for the various activities available to the player ( amongst many other rather outstanding features in this underappreciated title) and the Borderlands series for the comprehensive means of distributing XP.
