Why, why, why do Warner Bros put Zack Snyder in charge of the DC movie franchises? Seriously, why?

Zack Snyder is a hit-and-miss director.  Actually, most of his movies have been  misses.  His track records have been spotty and uneven at  best.  He has one breakout hit, 300; but one moderately successful movie is not a track record.  The Watchmen was passable but underwhelming; given its seminal source material, the movie definitely did not meet expections.  Man of Steel fell short of its ambitions.  All his other movies were misses or disappointments, either critically, financially, or (often) both.

His direction of the Silk Specter was criticized as an objectificatoin of women.  Then, Sucker Punch - a movie written and created enirely by Zack Snyder -  was widely criticized for its misogynistic depiction of women.  So we already know what that guy thinks of women.  Yet Warner Brothers let him cast Wonder Woman, a most important female icon and role model.  It's like, WTF?

I do not even  understand why Warner Brothers would let that guy in charge of the  fate of the entire DC franchises and movie universe, and let him decide who gets to be the first Wonder Woman on big screen.  WTF was Warner Bros thinking?   What did he do to earn that much confidence and trust from Warner Bros?  He won the jackpot lottery with Warner Bros.  Based on his underwhelming track record, I really do not think he has the ability to pull off  multiple long-running, successful franchise movies.

Considering how WW is treated outside her own series, no surprise there. Wonder if she´ll be reduced to Superman´s girlfriend in the movie too.

The only DC is the animated series. All else is premitted, but oft forgotten.

Yes, and let's hope he's not plowed over by a cluster of DC fans.

They secretly want it them to fail because they resent having to play catchup with the Marvel films. Once they bomb they will have the proof they need to stop making them.

it's doesn't matter since everything from DC is really weak source material anyway. as long as the action is good it's just another average comic book movie just like the rest of them
