Last night after I was done playing, I bought some packs to refill equipment and I had something like 260 Cryo Rounds IV.  To use at least one of them before it magically disappeared for the night, I decided to just do one more game, and I would be "that guy" with Cryo Acolyte on a Vorcha Soldier.

We all know that Cryo Rounds are obviously the choice of team players, so what is your preferred character and weapon for using them?  So far really the only thing I like is Cryo Falcon with Concussive Shot.  I think I have tried most of the other gimmicks as well, but maybe there is something I don't know about.

What is a good way to use them?  Or should I try to use my 255 Explosive Rounds III instead?

QFE or Human Engineer with Incinerate specced for bonus damage to chill/frozen. Gives yourself another source of tech primers, slows down heavy threats, and, if you've got it on a powerful enough shotgun/talon and are a good enough shot, will freeze centurion-tier threats after stripping their shields, all in one shot.

Any kit that has incinerate specced for chill damage, particularly the Human Engineer. Strap on a weapon that applies ammo powers well and go to town.

Just posted a HSoldier Venom Cryo Ammo success story vs. Collectors. Worked great.

The power of Freeze Combo is insignificant next to the power of the Incendiary.

I play a mad spike tossin graal weilding Talon Merc and use cryo rounds on my graal...
Adds armor weaken and slow to beef up those armor shredding omni bolts. Also, when the 1-2 graal spikes + omni spikes combo just happens to not end with a 1hko that something freezes up.

He's so squishy I find cryo helps vastly improves his survivability.

She already has cryo blast for that.

I do not anticipate that any player will have the requisite time for that particular skill.

Because there are hardly any enemies where Cryo Blast into Incinerate makes more sense than either just shooting them or using multiple Incinerates.  Hence: ain't nobody got time fo dat.

No, but now I will be serious.

Unless you are running a fix for IA stacking, then the only enemies worth Cryo Blasting are the top tier enemies, and only for the damage taken debuff, not for Freeze Combo.

Wrong. Cryo blast mooks, and shoot them to death. If they aren't dead by the time your cooldown is up, finish em with incinerate setting up either tech bursts or fire explosions in the process.

Why are you wasting cooldowns CB'ing mooks if they can simply be shot?

More importantly, why are you even talking about a single Cryo Blast when the discussion is about combos?

This plus style points.  It's very satisfying to get a cryo explosion from cryo blast on the QFE for instance.  And the alternation of fire and ice looks cool.

Don't do everything because you think it's most effective from a min/max perspective. If you are doing that, why not just play the TGI harrier all day?

Mook squad cryosplosions! Cryo one, soften it up (left over from when you had to kill it) then Incinerate and you've got a whole bunch of insta-chilled enemies to pick off at your leisure.

Yes Cryo Blast is a good power and my QFE wouldn't leave home without it, but that doesn't solve my Cryo Rounds IV 255 problem.

Although I am a big dmc fan. The 'new' dmc game sucked, but came just above dmc 2 IMO.

Somebody already mention the vorcha hunter.  Take the chilled evo on his incinerate.

Also, start using the falcon + cryo rounds 4 paired with CS, cluster grendes, charge, etc...  Bring a backup weapon to deal with non mooks.

But I agree, I've got about 12 incendiary 4 and 255 cryo 4.

I would think Cryo Ammo (via Falcon or Venom) would also be rather fun with Talon Merc's Concussive Arrows. Also any kit with Lash.
