You can't actually max it. The store will still give you more of them, and if you are over the 255 limit at the end of the session, you just lose the extras.zuckendesfleish wrote...

Area of effect weapons are good at applying the freeze effect - a Strike Soldier can suppress a whole spawn of mooks.
Incinerate and Concussive Shot have evos for extra damage on frozen/chilled targets.
I think the slowing effect does not influence all enemy actions like Banshee's teleporting, turret ROF or sync kill animations and no matter what: Cryo ammo just does not enough damage.

Cryo ammo doesn't give bonus damage at all. The penalty applies to movement speed only anyways; a prime or a pyro will still take you down in a heartbeat.
OT: Volus Engie with slow evos on both recon and proximity mine plus falcon/venom with cryo ammo.

So time to convince my friends to play DI/VE w/ Recon Mine, QFE w/ Cryo Blast, ACA w/ SS and Dark Channel with Slow, and HSoldier w/ Cryo Striker and see how slow we can get a group to move...
