She has no interest in changing, until you tell her to. There's no character development there. People don't change because someone tells them to. I hate to get too serious here, but I used to be involved in my own share of gang life and crime. It not only took near death, and death of friends, but some jail time, rehab, hurting loved ones, and finding religion to boot. You have to see the light on your own or after hitting rock bottom. The quest is stupid. At least to me it is.
Shepard doesn't go "become a social worker now." Shepard tells her to go clean. Full stop. She could've gone to Noveria and been one of those scummy executives. She chose not to do that.
Plus Shepard was dead for 2 years. How are you to say she didn't go through all that before she even met Shepard the first time (remember I'm pretty sure those two betrayed her) and Shep was the straw that broke the camel's back? (Or that she went through all that after Shepard died).
She's a side character of course we're not going to know her life's story. But she clearly had issues with drug dealing and slavery from the jump is it so strange that Shepard closing the door to her continuing the gang life wasn't the excuse/encouragement she needed to completely go clean?

Fair enough but people are different. Everyone doesn't need to same things to change.
Thankfully you can completely avoid that and have her remain an underboss.
@Massive: to be fair there's no way you can actually make Shepard a "boyscout" no matter what he/she steals the Normandy, works with terrorists, and picks a jerkwad option of the tone of RGB.
You can't avoid being a dick in this game. D:

Yeah, I don't know why you enjoy that. It's nice that he isn't around.

It's what they're seen as in the universe. So yeah.
Plus RGB cements all Shep's as massive dicks whether you want to or not.

I should add that in 15-20 ish years, my track record of changing others is 0. So to hell with Shepard. His record is better than mine: So I'll be bitter. My life story doesn't help, my advice doesn't help..nada. In fact, a few have died, laughing to their graves. I might be a bit cynical, but if people do change, I don't know how unless something really gets to them inside and turns their life upside down.

Ah yes, that's right. It's both. I just leave it alone, now that I recall. Persuasion powers are a weak mechanic sometimes (I tend to avoid it intentionally at times).

I've lived a pretty short time but I've seen people change for the better in a few years (my aunt, myself) and others for the worse (my brother).
I'll be the optimist to your cynic

I'm actually somewhat surprised he didn't comment in this thread earlier to defend the sanctimony of fox news.
Though I must say, it's nice to see fox news get ripped on for a change. In the state I live, I can't even go to a ****ing liqour store or restaurant without that **** playing on the nearest TV.

To be fair, it's a popular thing to rip on. Heck even the Simpsons took cracks at it and Rupert Murdoch for years.
