My demo girl is 6/6/6/6/0 build, all grenades skills, all power damage. And my only kit with a harrier, since I have to be within range to get the slight shield bonus to stay alive.

I'm a hipster but I prefer my resupply rate and running into the radius when I need the shields after DoT or something.

I have tried this but even during hacks and extraction it's small radius makes it only slightly useful.

The best use is running through the thing to get an immediate small shield boost very useful for cloaked infiltrators and anyone about to die from DOT. But you can obtain this without taking either of the "support" evolutions.

I do this if I notice someone just camping my pylon. Actually had a PuGger chasing me as I was dropping it as soon as my cooldown was up.
