I would like to see a greater number of hairstyles - not a major issue for me, but it would be nice to have more variety/better hair.

I agree. Bioware speak so much about equality. Equality my ass. Why restrict character creator based on sex. Make like saints row, everyone can use everything.

I hadn't thought about that, but you're right. Why restrict hairstyles based on gender? I mean some of them will end up looking funny on the other gender(like the Anora or the Elthina) but most of the normal looking ones would look ok on anyone(ex: not the friar tuck or the pumpkin with bangs) and who cares if some people decide to go the silly route anyways?

I'd like some nice curls.

that or decent braids. Not that terrible Sten do or half braids and half out but nice long braids.

I wish they would make hair of many different textures: fine, coarse, straight, curly(plus short curls as well) crimped or frizzy, etc...Right now the options are straight or slightly wavy.

need better facial hair too, and more realistic colours, I do have blonde stubble irl and it looks nothing like blonde stubble in games.

Not only that, but more hair colours would be nice too. Maybe give us six different shades of blonde, brown, red hair etc.? Or just provide us with a colour wheel.

I'd like to have a wider selection of quality hair and colours as well (please, no more of that glued-on effect).
Also, I'd actually like to not have a distinction between male and female hair this time, like Saints Row 3&4 already do (ok, those games might do it just for fun, but I think it's actually a great idea).

I always go for the short haircut with a heavy stubble so BioWare has been fine for me in that regard.

I ended up using Alistair's haircut most of the time so it would be great if they gave us another short yet non-gelled hairstyle.
I would have loved Kaidan's cut ha (I think it is gelled though... it has to be...)

Also, shaped stubbles would be a plus. (I doubt this will happen though)

I....

I would use longer shaped hair if it looked like that...

That's exactly how men should wear longer hair.... too bad no video game ever has given this option besides Skyrim maybe.

A hair thread? Good, another chance for me to shamelessly beg advocate for decent short male hairstyles (and/or female as I also support the idea of removing gender restrictions in the character creator). Are you taking suggestions, Bioware? Because I've got them. I offer unto the character art team: the ever popular side-part, the modern fade, the simple side sweep, the quiff both classic and modern, as well as these delightful numbers (okay, that last one would probably render horribly in-game, but whatever).

Inspiration, yay! Now, I acknowledge that these are going to be seen as over-styled, over-modern and whatever else, but who cares? It's a game. A fantasy game in a fictional setting and time. So...you know...

I also acknowledge that hair isn't the top priority, but I'm also kind of tired of all my male characters and Alistair having the same hairstyle as each other (or a buzzcut in ME1&2, then Kaidan's in ME3), simply because it's the only decent one in the CC.

And please just straight up get rid of the aggressive combover...and the friar tuck. <_<

No. Yes. Yes. YES. YES. YES to both. Maybe. No. Hell no.

ME3 had great hairstyles for men. I actually have never retained the buzzcut in any of my ME3 playthroughs. But yes I'm glad we both agree that Kaidan's hairstyle was the best

Hopefully AMD can work on tresfx on not being such a memory hog, because it does look nice.

Edit: well, about as nice as Nvidia will let it.  It does some wonky things sometimes.

I have to admit, I think DA has the worst hairstyles for females. At least in ME series there was the one hairstyle with the medium length hair that wasn't horrible. I don't even need better graphics for the hair - I just want some better styles.

If you put a beard on a male PC, most of the female hair options from both DA games won't look silly.
That's why Thor looks so good with his flowing mane.

I want Ken hair as pictured below so that it does not get mussed up in the wind. I use a lot of Nug fat grease on my hair to keep it in place.

I must say, DA has made me a fan of buzzcuts for elves. I hope that it's a returning option for an elven Inquisitor.

If it works like Sims, male and female models have different sized heads, so they would need to convert each hairstyle for the opposite sex.  They probably didn't think they would get used enough to justify doing that.

I just like a variety. Before I modded Origins I usually used only a couple styles since they fit the character personality and the texturing was awful in both DA2 and Origins. Default hair looks more like plastic helmets than hair.

One of the first things I added was hair texturing and color mods, and make up, along with numerous hairstyles. Bioware seriously needs to add someone to their staff with some cosmetology skills for 1) hair styles that are actually attractive (it would be nice to have more than 2-3) and 2) make up that doesn't look like they went to clown school prior to joining the Inquisition.

While we're at it, can we have a zero-makeup option for femquisitors that doesn't make them look like they're corpses with no eyelashes? Not 'unobtrusive eye shadow', not 'blush that pretends to not be there'. Just zero makeup and natural-looking eyes and face. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that my Inquisitor won't give half a damn about painting her face when she's got asses to kick.

I believe the hair will be much better in DAI. You can see the grass moving in the wind.
