I´m really curious about the origin intro stories and plan them all then fetch a gamesave i liked the most and continue the mainstory. Has anyone else thought of doing this? :innocent:
Who else will start to play all the origins then go on with the main story?

I will play all of the origins, but each playthrough will be from start to finish. I already have a pretty good idea of which origins I will enjoy most.

I've thought about it, but I'd rather not. I have a gameplan, and I don't want the Origin stories all done for me as soon as possible, they're really interesting and unique, and will give me more incentive to continue playthroughs.

Exactly, SoN. These origins are meant to be sampled and savored. If at the end of my first playthrough I've already done all the origins I won't have an incentive to go and start my second run.

I hadn't thought of that. I might do 1 or 2 at first, but I will save them for something new later.

Probably I will do it when I finish my first playthrough, or I'll never finish any of them (like I do when playing 2 or more games at the same time)

I've never partially played a game, even a little bit, and started another character with this style of RPG and I definitely will not start now. It'll be a complete play through character #1, then #2, etc. I'm hoping the game can hold my interest through six complete plays (and I have the time!).

It's tempting I must admit. I've thought about getting a taste of each origin to see what suits me but... I get connected to my characters before I even play them. I know, silly for a CRPG, but once I get the bug to play a certain character it's hard for me to stop his story so to speak.

I will get to all the Origins, but I will be going from beginning to end with each gameplay. What I am looking forward to is seeing the other Origin's characters and how they fared without my masterful mouse-pointing clicky guiding them. I think it may be amusing while doing that going "Oooh! So that's what happened to him!"

Same here, I just couldn't do that and really get into whatever role that paticular character will play.Kevin Lynch wrote...

after my solo
gonna do 2 at one time
switch off after important parts
to give me an idea on how much my choices make a difference
then switch on to another 2

Unless I really dislike my character's origin story and/or he/she keeps dying I'll stick with it. I want to experience the main game as soon as possible. Probably try all the origins at some stage and see them through to the end though.

Not at first, I really want to get stuck into the story.
Probably after the first 2 or 3 playthroughs, will definately want to check them all out though as well as their male/female variants (City Elf in particular).

Nah, start to finish seems like a better plan. Otherwise you'll keep messing around with low level characters forever! Besides, I'm more interested in the (permanent) party characters.

Nope, start to finish for me. Although I generally don't play dwarves so I'll likely just peek at their origin stories, and if they hook me enough I'll play them through.

It goes against all my RPG tendencies to not finish a game completely once I start it. That wanderlust everyone talks about? No idea what that is!

No I think doing that would kinda take you out of character if you know what i mean. Focusing on one at a time ithink will give the most enjoyable game play experience.

Nah, I thought about it because they all look so interesting and it's been hard for me to choose just one as my first playthrough, but I reckon I'll get disconnected from the characters if I do it that way.

Very true.. each Origin is a story and should be treated that way. Alas if i can´t identify/like one at all, maybe i will skip it after the unique Part.Spaghetti_Ninja wrote...

I'm tempted at least to play the city elf and see how much I like it. But I don't want to interrupt my Dalish run, so I probably won't.

This is what I'll be doing.

Right away? nope. I'll prob save them for here and there where I only have half an hour at a time to game or something. Do them in chunks like that.

I thought about it, but I decided it would just be easier to play through the whole game first.
