The only way I could see a Darkspawn as a companion is that you sided with the Architect and one of his guys joined the Inquisitor.

Because everyone thinks a walking biological weapon/rape abominatio is the best thing to have around?

Wasn't Anders, at least in part, a demon companion? Hadn't Justice become a demonish Vengeance?

Anything more than an abomination would create an untenable situation. You might enjoy having a desire demon in your tent at night, but as a companion she would require way too much hand-waving.

That only gives them some form of sapience.  It does nothing about the fact that they are walking typhoid Mary's.  Their mere presence corrupts and sickens people.

Not saying it's a good idea. The OP asked for it and just giving an idea on how it could be done.

It's not even lulz-worthy at this point, Lazengan.

To everyone else, no. For the reasons I stated in the other two threads about this, sapient darkspawn still taint things around them. They cannot live with the party. They cannot stay near the party. They are pretty much what Scar said above.

yea sure lets have a darkspawn in the party and everyone can become tainted and lets have a demon too the Inquisition will be super successful that way.

Even better lets have Darkspawn and demon LIs.

Can you imagine the rule 34?

I get what you mean, I'm just saying that there's more justification requried than the Architect sent you a toxic, sapient rape horror.

@In Exile: Why are you judging me and my fetishes?

You're a bigot and you hate kittens and rainbows and cupcakes.

Also - something about Hitler.

A Darkspawn? No. Their very presence is inimical to life on Thedas. Even the Messenger continued to spread the taint, even as he tried to aid random people.

A Demon? Probably not just the demon. Even the most intelligent Pride Demons encountered on their own (outside of a host) are very simplistic and rudimentary in their mindset. I would expect regular attempts to either kill or possess the PC with little to no conversation, depending on class.

I could see a demon being a summon possibly. Maybe a new Blood Mage skill, or even in it's own tree. Although that would be less "Demon Companion" and more forced enslavement.

The Aestethic of Ugliness. It was pretty popular in Europe in the 19 century.

Even spirits I wouldn't particularly want as a companion. They're not benevolent. It astonishes me that only the Dalish seem to comprehend that. They are totally devoid of what we would call human emotion. They do not understand people's goals and motivations at all and so therefore cannot be truly trusted. So yeah, a 'demon' is totally out of the question for me. If there was one in the game, I wouldn't want it. It would probably be my second or even third before I wouldn't kill it/shoo it off.

Let's not pull a Drizzt Do'Urden on the darkspawn.

They're monsters, plain and simple. I'd rather keep them that way.

Don't compare Drizzt with those decomposing monsters ! :pinched:
