Hoping to play
Dalish male Mage - focus on primal and creation magics.
Qunari Mage- probably focus on lightning or flame, with spirit magic.
Human Mage - ice magic and entropic magics.
Human/ dwarf fighter or rogue.
Not sure what genders for human and qunari. Again depends on specs and backgrounds.

Is the qunari player character still a follower of the Qun? Regardless, I think playing as a saarebas might be interesting given what's happened in DA2.

If I get it I'll most likely play a human first. Class is really dependent upon what kind of information and I see about the classes. Really can't say now.

Hopefully the choice of class won't decide someone's life or death again.

Most likely I'll be either a human templar or a Qunari Blood Mage.

Alternatively, I may take Eurypterid's route and play a Rouge Rogue(no particular race).

If you can be an elven warrior without being Dalish, I'll consider it.  If so, I'll be a sword-and-shield male elf warrior first.

If you have to be Dalish, I'll pass and make my character a greataxe-wielding male dwarf warrior.  With a glorious beard.  I just hate how no dwarves in DA have a Scottish accent, though.

Fem Qunari Warrior for my first playthrough.

 I'll definitely play as a female elf rogue first. After that, female Qunari mage, and, after that, male elf rogue/mage.

Eventually I'll play as a warrior in the DA series. Maybe one day.

1st: female elven mage. (from the circle, not the dalish hopefully)
2nd: female qunari mage or rogue (probably rogue)
3rd: male human warrior (not sure if I'll complete this one, I usually hate playing warriors but I'll try it out)

The only one that's locked for sure is my first choice, I don't really know what I'll play after that. it's easy to make plans in advance. I look forward to being a qunari though, if only to rub my Tal'Vashothness in the Qunari's face at every opportunity...

Ugh I hate that! I was considering replaying DA2 as a mage a while back but then I remembered that I wouldn't get Bethany... 

Could you imagine if your class choice in DA:I determened whether you get Varric or Cassandra? I'd throw a fit.

As for my choice in DA:I, I'm seriously tempted to play a Qunari since it's an option, but the other 3 races are all appealing for different reasons as well. I can say that I probably won't play an Elf if I'm forced to be a Dalish variant. City Elves are way cooler imo

As for class, it really depends on what they're capable of. Greatsword wielding characters are always a favorite of mine, so there's a good chance warrior will be my first pick. But I could see myself playing a rogue if their stealth/strategy options are more similar to DA:O (Traps, pre-fight positioning, etc). And if mages can be shapeshifters with a really speedy, agile, and powerful spider form I'd want to play that.

So I'm still largely undecided at this point. I'm very thankful for the options in this matter though  It's a lot more exciting than being stuck as a human.
