That said, "Best shot for a while" is still a mediocre shot at best. There has been some indication that something might be possible, but don't watch it for that alone. I'll have a casual eye on the tweet stream, but I'm not planning to watch.
Expect nothing, and you have the chance to be pleasantly surprised.

Not much beyond a teaser trailer and basic overview though.
Next year will be the more significant trailers, information, etc. After DA:I is out, the outright hype will begin. VGX just might be the beginning of it (the wider gaming 'public' awareness, instead of just fans), is all. (I don't really count the few vague interviews and the N7 day pics)

As long as Citadel wins best DLC, I'll be happy.

It certainly isn't unlikely... us veteran BSN members will remember the suprise of seeing the trailer for Mass Effect 3 appear less than 6 months after the launch of Mass Effect 2. I think we might get a cinematic trailer just like Mass Effect 3 did at the 2010 vgas.

Exactly. It's been several months since Citadel DLC. A teaser trailer (and maybe more) is something I'd never write off.
Deep details though? Nah, unless something very special is happening.

Also need to mention that Bioware Montreal is handeling the next ME, and their last DLC was Omega back in November 2012. I also remember that one of the devs asked a few months ago what'd we'd like to see in a reveal/teaser trailer.
As always, the hype train has started, and a few sites around the web say we should look out for a Mass Effect reveal tonight. Just search ''VGX Mass Effect''. Still rumors and speculation, so take it with a grain of salt.

Edmonton and Montreal work close enough together. I know for a fact that at least some in Montreal worked on Citadel.
Think of it more like:
ME3 --> Edmonton
From Ashes --> Edmonton
Extended Cut --> Edmonton
Leviathan --> Edmonton, maybe some Montreal help
Omega --> Montreal, maybe some Edmonton help
Citadel --> At least partially joint Montreal+Edmonton
ME4 --> Montreal, maybe Edmonton people moved over

True. What I wanted to say was that the window for them to have begun developpement on their next ME could have been as early as November 2012. While Edmonton-Montreal usually work together, a small portion of their team could have already started brainstorming some ideas, since I think most of the main stuff on Citadel, like writing, was done at Edmonton, with Montreal in a support role doing QA and a few art and coding stuff, like they usually have done for the past 3 years.
