Hmm, i doubt youll be able to edit the name, though it doesnt matter too much. Its never seen or said, its just for you. What did you name him/her?

I don't see why the name matters. It is literaly used for NOTHING except to determine which ones are which when looking through files.

I named my guy German Shepard too and I can say that I will happily play through ME 2 and continue the saga of Commander German Shepard.

Nice commander shepard, It is like dragon age uploading Im sure itll display the first name and if so i have it as Andr'e and on here 'e showed up as random letters and numbers.

I have 5 Shepard I'll be importing and 3 have variations of the name Nicholas - kinda hoping I'll be able to change them to something more differentiated. I know I'll be giving two complete makeovers.

I am embarrassed to note that my main Shepard, who is level 60, was named Able--only realizing after the first playthrough that I meant to type in Abel so my evil playthrough would be named Cain. But I guess I'm stuck with an adjective as a hero now.

More importantly, can you change Shep's gender? That would be hilarious, especially when you encounter folks from ME1. Bonus hilarity points if you can blame it on a screwup by Cerberus, who rebuilt you incorrectly.

Tada! I've come through yet again - well almost.







2:23 in we see a screen very familiar to one we saw in ME1 - the one where you change your Shepard's name. Even though it's in German it clearly translates into "Name Input."



Unfortunately as we look at the screen we still see the default Shepard next to it so it may not apply to imports necessarily. In truth we probably won't find out until ME2 comes out but still - here's hoping.

I don't know why you'd be embarrassed; he made it to lvl. 60 so he seems pretty ABLE to me^_^ (Lame joke, I know but I couldn't resist). But take heart, you could've named him something stupid like. . . Shepard.

Actually, that's a kinda cool way to get ppl to use your "first" name in game. Anyone out there actually do this? I might do it for one of my new playthroughs
