It sadly is true. Would have loved to have health regen as well.

And why not? If they make it an optional choice I don't see the problem. You may want a challenge with your games but some people prefer to just play the story without too much trouble.

Health regen when put in a game is not optional.

Then Bioware can make a breakthrough here by beign the first game developer to make it an option to turn health regen on or off!

I'm fine with no regen so long as potions are about and I can go somewhere to restore HP. Though they did say their limiting the potions as well to make you actually think about who you want to help, might be more trouble then it's worth making it that complex. Someone who ends up not soaking up a lot of damage would still be able to circumvent these "tough choices" if they've got a good handle on the gameplay mechanics.

I don't know, making it available for say a casual difficulty and restricting it further the higher you go up on the difficulty options could give for a wider array of letting people pick what experiance they want. Kinda like New Vegas has that one hardcore RP mode. They might actually please everyone.

If it works then I don't see how it wouldn't solve the problem. You can turn it off while others can turn it on. Everybody wins.

Or are you affraid that you will turn it on as well at some point and that it would hurt your pride as mr hardcore gamer?

Spirit Mages finally have a few spells that are more important than Revive. This is a good thing.

They better give us a Spirit Healer companion so I don't have to role one myself...<_<

Although, in the beginning at least, it looks like I am going to have to invest at least a point or two towards healing magic now.

I think Yahtzee Croshaw hit the nail on the mark here, as to alternative methods of healing. Giving health back for free simply by leaning against a wall or doing nothing is taking things away from the player. Playing a game is a challenge in it self, you have a goal and the a game doesn't offer that goal on a silver platter. If one is concerned about difficulty then you always have the option of turning it down to easy after all.

Protip #1: No health regen != Game is necessarily harder

Protip #2: Some games that do have health regen are harder than DA:I will likely ever be (Case in point: Witcher 2 on Dark)

Exactly - easy. Why not give the people who play on easy then the health regen? I really don't see the problem you guys are making it out to be.

Also since when is Yahtzee speaking for the entire gaming community. Maybe some people don't mind it when a game is "taking some things away from the player".

Why do you need health regen on easy?

Why not? Not everyone is as hardcore as you guys. They don't seek a challenge - some people just want to enjoy a game without too much hassle. Also what happend to the: More Options is always beter attitude? Or does that only apply when it comes to sexuality?

A perma death mode would be cool.

If you're playing on easy, the game will be easy, seeing as DAo and DA2 where not even that hard on nightmare I doubt easy is going to be that hard even without health regen.

Ah yes, Fire Emblem Master Race. BioWare has yet to ascend to such a level.

Indeed but expecting it from todays gaming industry is like asking for disappointment unfortunately :(

I don't think they ever will the amount of recorded dialogue that goes into most companions. It's just not smart business wise.
