Thanks.  The fun part about today is that we're having our Christmas stroll--which is just a community event where the shops are open all day and late into the evening, with art galleries and music and general festivities.  It's USUALLY cold, and icy, to boot, but this is the first year I've been to one where it was dangerously cold.  Thankfully the city officials had the sense to move most of the outdoor stuff inside.  And it'll be during the day, this year, rather than at night as in years past.

Try not to freeze today, then! Best of luck.

No worries.  I doubt I'll be outside longer than it takes me to scurry from one building to another, and I'll be refilling my cups of hot chocolate and cider and coffee as quickly as I empty them!

 /has finals
/will most likely miss my niece's third birthday
/failing at unclehood

 :crying:

On topic: I would love to see examples of Tevinter bloodmages who gained their powers without a Faustian pact. The lore in DA:O even states that not all bloodmages learn though demonic pacts.

Also, I want to visit the Imperial Chantry :wizard:

/sees people speaking about colledge
/remembers that he could have been experiencing the student life right now if he didn't dislocated his knee cap while dancing at the prom, thing that prevented him from going at the sport exam
/becomes aware that all his friends are out of town

/epic fails

I actually think there are more bloodmages that didn't consort with demons than otherwise. It's pretty easy to cut yourself and then experiment with that power.

As for the Imperial Chantry - I wonder if they have a builing similar to The Grand Cathedral. Or maybe a huge black tower like the one in Isengard, but taller and wider

Jowan learned blood magic from a book, but I am unsure if that type of learning is as powerful and potent as by learning directly from a demonic entity.

~tra-la~ Ain't I happy that my exams are long done. Getting my results Monday.

Anywhoo @OP: No sir, no you are not. Though I wouldn't really mind if they only touched it lightly in DAI and then centre the next installment on it and the probable Qunari invasion.

You' made a grave mistake. You let incriminatori proof that ties you to him. Now you'll have to wait  for an unexpected accident to happen.

This made me wonder : Do tevinter mage apprentices kill each other and make things look like accidents if they get certain perks after x is out of the way ?

I would imagine so, to some extent. It is a very dog eat dog world when it comes to mages in Tevinter.

Let's be honest, that happens everywhere. It's just encouraged more in Tevinter.

Murder - yes.

Apprentices killing other  apprentices - not quite the same thing. There is no perk for the ones outside Tevinter. So if they don't enter in a fight, an accident happens ( a real one ) or something like that, there's no reason to do it.

Making a lot of assumptions about a lot of peope and a lot places with this statement.

Besides the ocasional murder ( reason : envy, hate et cetera), practice accident or fight gone wrong, I don't see why a outside of Tevinter mage apprentice would want to kill another one. They don't gain anything worth it.

Tevinter apprentices ( if murder of the competition is practiced ) had something to gain - a better master, the atention of the right people now that the competition is gone and other things that don't spur in my mind right now.

As for murder - it happens everywhere no matter the country, social status, gender and others.

See like right here. This assumes that the Cirlce is the only place of magic learning and that even within these Circles no one gives perks to anyone for killing another.

Tevinter apprentices ( if murder of the competition is practiced ) had something to gain - a better master, the atention of the right people now that the competition is gone and other things that don't spur in my mind right now.

This assumes that removing an appretice is only beneficial if the master knows who did it. You just as easiely remove competeiton early on anywhere in anything.

As for murder - it happens everywhere no matter the country, social status, gender and others.

Not the point.

And in Orlais it would seem, although not as nearly to a great extent as Tevinter. The Game appears to be pretty merciless.

1) Yes, on the Circle part it was a lack of communcation skills on my part. I was solely referring to the Cicle apprentices. Outside the circle - it's possible. In the Circle - I don't see a reason. If you could provide an example that doesn't covers what I said then I would appreciate it.

2) I didn't say that the masters need to know who did it. Because that certain apprentice is dead, the master might search for a new one and the murderer might be the one that's chosed ( it wouldn't help killing him if he wasn't sure that he would be "the chosen one" ). Because that certain apprentice is gone, other important people might obeserve him now that the victim is gone and can't distract them from him.

I think this is the interview where Darrah mentions Tevinter. It's 3 months old. shrugs.
