 I can't help but notice that lots of people on BSN whine about powerful builds. I'm just interested I. Understanding why that is.

Because they might get outscored, and should this happen their feelings will be hurt.

On a more serious note i think it is because when you play a game a lot and encounter a lot of people always playing the same OP builds it gets boring. I'm nowhere near that point myself and enjoy whatever help i can get (except those damn cain mine spammers...).

Because it makes them feel superior, thinking that others are doing well not thanks to their skills, but only because of "powerfull builds"

Very true, yet I don't think many people realize that a build is not a substitute for skill it seems IMO people think they're one and the same when they are clearly not. That what I'm kinda getting at least.

To answer the question seriously, the issue I believe most people have is they want to see some variety.

I for one don't care what anyone chooses to play, or how they play it (with the exception of flamer kits + acolyte which is just irritating), but it does get a little boring seeing a TGI+Harrier as an example in every lobby.

I don't know hear a lot of complaining about OP builds as much as I do about OP characters and fanboying said characters in general.

I intend to take as powerful a build into every game as possible so that the team can succeed, as should everyone else.

I don't get it either. I guess I can understand people not wanting to be outscored but the only thing I use score to judge is if I need to change the build I'm using or use a different chacter if I'm consistently in 3rd or 4th place.

I wouldn't complain about seeing someone else using the same build all the time, I just question that person's idea of fun. How much fun could you possibly be having playing a TGI Harrier every time you run Platinum? The variety this game offers is what makes it playable for the hundreds of hours most of us have played it. If I never played anything but a Vanilladept I would've gotten bored and quit months ago.

I had a friend who used to do that. Trooper + Acolyte set to Reapers every damn game. I used to dread dropping into his lobbies.

I personally don't care as long as they're helping. I'd rather see all the "lolTGIHarriers" and "AIUReegars" that some people complain about instead of what I usually run into. SmashGuard armed with a Widow I and Adas III, for example.

I could see the variety aspect pointed out above though. I don't pug nearly as much as a lot of folks on here.
