Why is it people always whine about powerful builds. ( not being sarcastic genuinely want to know people's thoughts on this. )

Where do you stand on reload-cancelling/hiding?

I play what I want, when I want. Simple. And I don't give two craps what other people play. If they enjoy using "OP" setups good for them. It's about having fun after all.

Scrub! I agree with you though.

I personnaly think that variey (even bad) in teamates (and obviously your own builds) is what keeps a game interesting. C'mon who didn't have a good laugh over some random pugger trying hard with what you would never consider a viable weapon kit? (Of course not in (gold/)plat.) And who didn't feel awesome from pulling out a viable new way to play an underused kit?

If any of you played D2 tell me, what did you feel when the hundreth hammerdin joined your game? This is the same issue here, i think. In fact, i don't think the build has got to be OP. The fact that it's so damn popular to the point you always run into it is key. Of course, the popularity in the masses is directly proportional to the power of the kit so most of the time it overlaps.

Edit: this all stands on the ground that you have already played the game a lot. From a new player perspectve everything that you think is overused could be new.

Your Vorcha Engineer reload cancelling with the Claymore made me sick the other day.

You should've seen my Cabal+Claymore. I got called out for it, and shamed in the lobby afterwards.

I never understood this. If someone's playing well and helping the team play a clean game, why should it matter what character/build/weapon they use? BSN is really weird sometimes. I can understand why someone would complain about bad players, but anything else is completely irrational.

I believe it is just that if you play often, and you only really see certain setups a majority of the time it gets boring. I am starting to get annoyed at the amount of juggies in platinum pugs, but that is because they rarely seem to be any good and that is all people seem to use.

I will say that the Geth Trooper gets annoying again because it is over used, but the flamer is also really annoying because they will spray it in your face and completely blind you with it.

It's a multiplayer game where people play with each other. If you can't have fun playing with others, or if you're going to complain over little things, then it's best to play a solo game by yourself.

And the can of worms is open and the bait is set! :pinched:

Back on topic, I believe I haven't got much to add, since we already had this conversation before Tyrant. But just remember, this is the internet and everyone complains about everything on the internet...

I didn't mean the "clever use of game mechanics" mechanics. I reload cancel and hide reload and cancel the hidden reload all the time.

I sitll have fun playing the game, if I wasn't having fun I would just stop playing rather than expect everyone else to accomodate me. However, I can complain about anything I want to it is not like I run around dictating what people can and cannot use.

The OP asked why people complain about certain kits, and I attempted to give an explanation as to why they do.

10 pts for honesty. Play with me, and I assure you you'll never have that problem. B)

It was a joke, just in case you thought I was serious.

Even if it was a joke, some player feel that way and refuse to admit it.

i would bet my ****** hand on that.

Because when good players play those kits on Gold, they kill chit so fast that there isn't my much for the other 3 players to do. The game becomes boring for the other 3. That's really how I feel about it, ditto with the Talon Merc Cain spam shenanigans. Those are platinum builds/kits and I don't want good players that I know making me sit on my hands for ~20 minutes while they kill everything. It's no fun being a male cheerleader.

Gold isn't for min/max in my opinion... It's for fun and experimentation. Platinum is for min/max. I can't tell you how many TGI/Harriers I kicked last night out of my Gold lobby.

You should really give platinum more of a shot again. I agree that gold can become way too boring if people start using OP kits. When I see that my team is too OP for gold, I'm always the first person to suggest bumping the difficulty up to platinum. If you have four good players, even platinum can be relatively easy most of the time anyway, but it at least provides just enough challenge to be fun... at least for me...

gold is boring for me because of who I play with most of the time.

However, pugging gold with a Harrier TGI dropping in? Not such a big deal because chances are they're still a scrub and don't know what they're doing anyway.

I do play it is someone needs money... Or if I feel like being OP. I just have more fun running oddball builds like the Human Engineer with the Kishock... You know, builds specialized in mook killing instead of boss killing.
