Preview of Mass Effect Foundation #6

Wow I need a dictionary.
But that moment with Miranda lying on the floor is so... ugh, it's so cheesy somehow, and Mac always has those moments in his comics, where it feels like it's trying to impress you, but it comes off as silly.

Looks like Mordin is getting his issue after Jack and Thane (#9).
Mordin's story may ties to his dossier in LotSB. And since almost all the foundation comics are tied to the Citadel DLC, I would hope there's some spicy contents between him and....AriaB)

I'd be surprised if it didn't mention Aria. He seems to be one of the few people she actually likes.
I'm really curious who's left. I hope they have a Legion issue (and not EDI). I'm afraid there will be a Kai Leng issue.

Legion wasn't on the cerberus recruiting list in ME2, as I recall. But it'll be interesting if his hole in the chest was shot by Kai Leng or Rasa:D

Oh, I forgot about that. I suppose Kasumi, Samara, or Zaeed would make more sense. Grunt and Legion are kind of Shepard's doing.

The comic was disappointing. It further ruined Miranda's character and I can't say I'm surprised. But at least the drawing was nice and she also didn't get the Wrex treatment from Genesis.Lawrence0294 wrote...
The drawing quality has definitely increased since #5Mesina2 wrote...
They... they... they learned how to draw Batarians properly?!
Thank god Miranda didn't go through what Ashley did

It makes sense with Jack at least. Same previously with Ash/Jacob/Miranda. Mordin might be cool. He said he had some run-ins with them before. So it wouldn't be out of the blue.

How many books did Walters planned for this series?

I think I heard somewhere it was 12. And I doubt he'll revisit Garrus and Tali. Foundation was supposed to follow up on Homeworlds.

There's so many little goodies in the Citadel DLC. This is easily one of my favorites.

Mac only likes to write about the stuff he came up with. Think about that interview about what ME4 could be about, Casey and that other guy had some funny little ideas and mac was all "huuu, You could make up any story, particularly with Aria, TIM, Miranda (all the characters I wrote)"
I think there's actually a saying that "good writers are the most egotistical" but to me it seems like Mac considers Cerberus his piece of the Mass Effect cake, that it's his to work with, and he doesn't want to touch the other stuff. S'weird and it sucks.

Before this though, he rubbed me as very... I don't know.. like he sees Shepard in very specific ways and expects millions of players to fall in line. Whether it's the best "bro" with Garrus thing or near canonizing of Liara's romance or the nightmares and PTSD.

Not to be confrontational, Street but... Um... yeah, it's kind of easy to write dialogue it seems. Just fill it with fan-service and everyone will claim you are one hell of a writer.
And I actually happened to dislike this whole "Mordin broke Omega's only rule". It was like thrown out of nowhere for just the sake of it. Just my opinion.

The comics makes it pretty clear to me how Mac writes when he isn't peer-reviewed by the other editors and writers. The "ooh so edgy" edgyness from ME2 is back here. Every comic has some kind of fight moment in it, and they're always so edgy.
But that moment with Miranda lying on the floor is so... ugh, it's so cheesy somehow, and Mac always has those moments in his comics, where it feels like it's trying to impress you, but it comes off as silly.
You kinda have an obsession with Mac Walters' writing style.

He isn't just writing dialogue. It's written like an old Mickey Spillane/Pulp detective novel. And Mordin's dialogue is specific to Weekes. Kind of has that quick/shorthand type of speech. It's a funny fit for the Noir type of narration he's going for.
