Jacob=Kaidan=> boring.
And how is he like Kaidan, because he is a male human NPC? I think Jacob is going to be a interesting character and way better than Kaidan in every aspect.
What I'm trying to say is Jacob fill the male human role, as Kaidan was in ME1. But I agree that Jacob might be more interesting then Kaiden. But he is not as interesting as Samara or SubZero.

That’s a cynical perspective.
Well it’s all just speculation I guess until we’re able to play the game and interact with him. At the very least, he should have the same amount of content as Kaiden and Ashley did for their respective gender of Shepard since he’s a potential romance character. But there’s nothing to say that he doesn’t play a crucial role in the outcome of the story.

Jacob looks cool as well. Shame we didn't get a video about him.

Maybe it's a stretch to say he looks a lot like Michael Irvin?

it's not a stretch to say he's pretty damn ugly. Quite the "gift" to femsheps.
Maybe he's good at polishing my boots, though.

I liked Kaidan. He was introspective, clever, and managed to be hardcore despite being nothing but support in combat. Hopefully, Jacob won't try to latch too hard to the 'tough guy' role.
I endorse this post, well said.

Meh..!
Because obviously if people don't have an outrageous personality or breasts they're considered boring right? Cause I mean, god forbid that somebody on your team isn't dying from something, their race is on the line, they're complete nutjobs, or whatever...
To be honest, I didn't think that Kaiden was any less interesting than Garrus, and I absolutely loved both of them for being actual to god normal human beings. Sure, Kaiden had to get a boot in the ass to jump on the love-cruise, but he's just a VERY professional man. If you were a career soldier, about to roll yourself up into something that could possibly ruin your career, you would have issues too.
I think that given the 2-4 years or whatever you take on him, he'll have a MUCH greater air of confidence and ability. People forget that the most interesting characters seem to evolve, and as interesting as some of the characters are, they just don't have much capacity to do so. If you look back to Luke Skywalker in A New Hope, he's sort've just a scared young kid, and where did he go?
The only flaw I thought was really evident in Kaiden was the lack of time to get to know him. I want to know more and it's just a shame that by the time I really get that chance he's gonna have his nose up in the air because ME2 romances 'haunt' you.
Anyways. I think Jacob will be a great character, and it's a shame he didn't get a video. That whole, he had his own game nonsense is bull too because, well.. It had very little developement in that game. Also, very few of us have played it.
