I finally got a graphic card that hopefully allows me to run NWN2 again, after my old one died halfway through the OC a few years ago (and it wasn't very fit when it came to community modules anyway). But at the moment I can't bring myself to load my old savegames and continue the OC, so I thought playing a short but great community module might be able to rekindle my passion for the game and help to accustom myself to its mechanics and controls in an entertaining way.
The thing is, while I could easily recommend several dozens NWN modules of any kind, I don't know jack about NWN2 community modules ...
Can anyone recommend me a shorter one (in the 1-10 hours range) that allows NWN2 to present itself from its best side? Something really good with a gripping story? Focused on plot rather than random chit chat about the life of a peasant in a fantasy world? For example, something where you start right in the middle of things instead of a slow beginning with tedious town exploration? Something with great atmosphere? Something original and maybe out of the ordinary? Something more ambiguos or twisted?
I'm open to all suggestions, even if they don't fit all the criteria.
Any module recommendations for a new player (preferably short ones)?

Harp and Chrysantemum? Trinity? I don't know if those are out of the ordinary or twisted, but they're great modules and not too long.

I second H&C. It is shorter and very well written. Story and dialog heavy.

Trinity and Misery Stone I would say. Based on your criteria I could also say H&C but I haven't played it myself. I just heard it is like that.

I hadn't seen your username (nor your signature for that matter). I was going to suggest taking a look at the AME, but you probably know about it already...
Regarding Misery Stone (I wouldn't call these spoilers), I love its atmosphere and the story is intriguing at the beginning, but as you go on, it ends up being little more than a simple hack and slash. Don't take me wrong; I recommend it and I've played it more than once, but if you're expecting strong storytelling from start to finish, you may be disappointed.

I wouldn't say Misery Stone degenerates into hack & slash. While dialogue (especially "cinematic" dialogue) diminishes throughout the course of the story, and there are signs that the author(s) were running out of time and cut some content, the remaining story is told largely through setpieces, quests, puzzles, and readables, much in the older Silent Hill style, which I particularly appreciate.
It also showcases a great many of the best features that were made available in the game's expansions. I think it fits all of Olivier's criteria, at least from certain perspectives. There are a lot of other ways that a module could be made "great" and to show the game's "best side", and no single module can hit all of them, nor will each person prefer all of those ways equally.

Maerduin's "The Birthday" is also a good short module.
