OK, so I've just completed DA:2 again, and once again I find myself completely sympathetic to Meredith Stannard's character. I dunno what it is I see in her, but somehow I always find myself agreeing with her, even though I sometimes don't (if that makes sense), and killing her in the final act just reignited how sad I was when she dies:crying::crying:. Does anyone else feel sympathetic towards Meredith, or am I the only one? Would be good to know, and if possible, why do you sympathise with her?

I can sympathize with her. With things from her past you learn only if you go a 'templar' route in the game, and things that happen in the game with opponents Hawke faces, I can understand her viewpoint. That doesn't mean I agree with her stance or regret opposing her. I'd post more to debate my stance, but this is in the 'no spoilers' section and I don't want to spoilerize anyone.

Totally. She's simply a rigid, authoritarian character. Such characters aren't necessarily bad, and they're often played with more sympathy than in DA2 (eg. Les Miserables' Javert, GoT's Stannis...). I think Meredith got a bit of a bum deal - the final plot twist was a little unnecessary, and needlessly vilifying, imho (but then Orsino got the same treatment there).
