You can play without a healer. Been playing a few play throughs on nightmare without Anders (as in not in the party at all) or Hawke specd for healing and I got to say it's a freaking blast. Oh and I'm not using Aveline as a tank either.
Healers are overrated
The same way you can play without a tank.....

Yep. Damage is king in DA2. Best party is 4 x DPS - ideally ranged.

I like this one, he understands!! Started one with Anders in party but no healing or heroic aura or haste just damage and on nightmare it still works. Kill things fast enough and they can't damage your party to the point where you need to heal. Oh and OBSCURED status is godly. Making assassins miss their death stabs and then pummeling them to death never gets old
