So, how do people feel about DAI thus far?

I just hope they don't model this to much like Skyrim which I didn't really like. I also never really liked the fallout games either. Half way through they become boring, the same simple minded tasks over and over again over massive areas of the world state. I've got my fingers crossed that with each new area something new is discovered, just like in DA:O. Each area had a different purpose and information. Example would be the difference between Haven/Temple, and Orzammar vs Redcliffe. Something new in each area. After the first exploration then I didn't have a problem going back to clean up a few quests here and there and pick up some supplies along the way. I didn't like being locked out of areas in DA2 after I'd opened them up.
I also agree with one of the posters above yeah, just going around claiming this keep and village I'm sure will get boring after awhile. I guess this is something that our agents might be able to do? If so that might not be so bad. Hmmm, we'll just have to wait an see.
We're around 8 months from launch and I'm hoping we'll start to get more information released. Anything...something would be nice.

I'd bet money we're closer to 15 months out than 8.

Pretty much this, although I would substitute the word 'cautiously' with the word 'very'.Visserian99 wrote...
I've loved everything I've seen thus far about DA:I. Bioware has generated enough goodwill with me thanks to their previous titles that I remain cautiously optimistic about this game so far.

Well there still is no confirmed release date but you seem to be taking the optimistic view and hhh9 going with the other end of the spectrum.ElvaliaRavenHart wrote...

My guess more tidbits will coume out between now and E3. E3 is a big showing and then ramping up for whenever the release is.
As far as how I feel. Could be a pre-order I have liked what I have been seeing. I have plenty of time t odecide either way,

DAI scored HUGE replayability for me when they brought back race options, especially qunari. I already have in my head my female qunari mage already planned out
So far, I have high hopes. I know I'll enjoy the game. I loved Origins, Awakenings, even DAII

I've said before it just doesn't "feel like" DA to me. Or in other words, it seems like a different game/universe altogether. I am one of those people who really think just because you can reinvent something doesn't mean you should.
PLUS: The fact that Hawke will be in it and the fact that the female PC will be yet again the same as the male except with hips and boobs just really turns me off. I had really hoped that these two things would NOT happen and since they are, I am just going to wait several months until after it comes out and watch the boards and see how it goes from there.
Right now though I am 80% sure I will not purchase it for all the above reasons.

where did you hear about Hawke being in it? I haven't heard anything about that. only 1 forum topic that i can rember and it was of art with the same champion's armor
As for the female PC vs male PC, considering in a world where there is pretty much equal rights, why would they say something different? or the people around them act differently. other than the males looking at your PC's boobs and not the face?

It's been vaguely hinted that both Hawke and the Warden will be "involved" somehow. See David Gaider's comment: http://social.biowar...ndex/17405252/2
But yeah, I don't see how either of these two things could be huge deal breakers. I understand many people don't like Hawke or DAII, but would it really break the game? Meh.
I don't recall ever seeing a game with a character creator in which the female and male versions of the character weren't the same. The point is that we shape the personalities with the options the devs give us. Is Bioware supposed to provide us multiple character development/personality options for each gender? What if I want to play a male Inquisitor who is sassy and they only gave that option to the females?
Or do I misunderstand what Autumn Witch is saying?

but "involved" is such a vague thing that it could pretty much mean anything. and considering Hawke was there when the war started s/he has been 'involved' from the get go. I'm sure whatever side the "champion of kirkwall' ended up with they will hold them up as a becon to there group.
the level of customization that Autumin wants can only ever be around in a PnP setting. BW games are more like player directed films than "create your own character" game.

In DA2 there's just Hawke, and it's never clear what motivates her to get involved in the events happening around her. It's all very interesting, but most of it doesn't seem to have anything to do with her, and you just don't form the same personal attachment to her that you do to your DA:O warden.
And now Inquisitor? A chantry inquisitor sounds to me like the character I would *not* choose to play as if it were one of several options. I like to play outcasts and rogues. I don't even *like* the Chantry. What is the inquisitor's motive for getting involved? Because she is an inquisitor and it's her job? We'll see, but I'm not enthusiastic.
I want to like it, but I'm beginning to suspect that the series may be going in a direction that appeals to a target audience that doesn't include me. So, I'm certainly not going to pre-order it. I'm going to wait until it comes out and see what people say about it first, not to judge whether it's 'good' or 'bad', but whether it's for me or not.

I am on the fence right now. I do not want the focus on exploring they keep presenting and no level scaling properly means forced backtracking.
I never liked Cassandra in da2, but always expected her as a companion, but I am really dissapointed with Varric coming back. So that means two companions I am already negatives towards, which is not a good start.
The option of leading and forming an organisation is interesting, but it has such a great potential of simply being a source of dissapointment and frustation so I don't know how to feel about that. But if it work, it could be great.
And I can play as a female qunari... I really want to play that.
So I am on the fence. The deciding point being how they handle the warden and Hawke.
Every time I read some one saying never likeing Cassandra in da2, my head almost explodes how She was only in the game during few short scenes and I do not think she was in the game enough to hate or even to like
Kinda of a late replie but I never saw this.
It is not hate, but simply dislike. Cassandra stabbed a book which is kinda of the way to get on my bad side. I have a lot of other the reasons which I will state below, but I admit that they might be slighly tainted by the fact that my first impression of Cassandra was woman who stabs book for no good reason. As a character she will never survive that in my eyes.
Further from that she seemed prone to yell and full of conspiracy theories, neither a quality I adore.
I also supscept her of being of being pro-chantry and a seeker, granted I have no idea how her stance on this is in da:I, but it certianly didn't boost my like for her in da2.

As for the Chantry, while we have no clue how the Inquisition is formed, we know from GI the tthe Inqusition is formed 'in opposition' of the Chantry, and that the two organizations don't necessarily have a good relationship, expecially at the beginning.
