I find myself wishing I could playing a Krogan in the SP campaign, or wishing that Shep could have new powers like Annihilation Field or Shadow Strike or whatever. I wish that all the variety of MP was available in the SP campaign, because MP makes Mass Effect feel wider and broader than just the story of one hero.

I remember when the trailers first came out and it became reality that you could play as other races from the game. So exciting. I have to wonder if they'll take this cue in "ME4" and make it more of a pure RPG with greater character customization. Be hard because story is often sacrificed in such models, but maybe that's the best way to continue exploring this universe.

Every time I say to myself: "You have to stop playing this game, you have other games to play!" it doesn't work and after a few days I come back. So I am probably addicted to this MP.

Did you ever read any of the novels?

When I first cracked open Revelation, which was the first novel published for ME, I got maybe twenty pages in and realized this game should be an RPG. Karpyshyn was writing about Krogan mercs and biotics and all these different races and character types, and when I actually played ME1, I was kinda like, "I can only play as Shepard???"

Back then, I was thinking how much I wished they'd release a traditional "pen-and-paper" ME RPG, you you could really explore the wealth of the setting. But now, a lot of people are speculating that ME4 will be an MMORPG or something similar.

IU have the feeling that ME3 MP was useful to Bioware not just as a money-making product but also as a testbed for an online game with a broader scope in a persistent univberse. The setting of ME is just too wide to follow a single, specific character again.

And even if it's not an MMO, a format like the first Dragon Age would be great, where the "hero" can be of any race or origin as opposed to one specific individual.

I don't. I haven't even heard of ME 3 MP, what is ME? What is bioware for that matter? I keep seeing that word around here. It seems like it's some kind of video game, but the only video game I play is cady crush saga on facebook. The rest of my free time is spent watching reality television. Why I post on this forum is a greater mystery than space magic.

Somehow, I can't seem to get enough of this game, it just doesn't get boring.

I played Borderlands 2 since release for a few months, I found that game very addictive but I was very quickly able to conquer it. In other words...that game provided very little challenge. Once you figure out specific builds and got your hands on specific weapons and gear, you could take down raid bosses in under 10 seconds and completely own and annihilate the whole game. That's when I lost interest in the game and moved away.

That's not the case with mass effect. After 1800 hours, I'm nowhere near close to conquering the game, I still find it very challenging. With other games, you always win, you dominate and can never lose. But Mass Effect multiplayer is different, you can get punished severely by the AI if you're not careful. And that's the reason I continue to play Mass Effect MP, hoping that one day I might get better and reach a stage where the game becomes easy. I don't see that happening though, it's very unlikely.

So, as long as the game remains challenging and fun, I'll continue to play it.

ME3 is a little like Donkey Kong, only with less barrels.

As a shooter, it's still the best I've ever played. The balance is so good that it makes every match I play fun and worthwhile, even if I'm just horsing around on a bronze with a character I don't really have a lot of skill with. If it's platinum, the challenge is always satisfying. I never don't feel a thrill when I get a full-squad extraction on a plat.

It's a great way to stay in the ME universe while the folks at BioWare do their thing. I only hope that whatever MP component they choose to assign to Dragon Age; Inquisition is as deep, diverse, and fun as the one for Mass Effect 3. It's certainly the most fun I've ever had playing a video game.

I stopped playing a long time ago, but I must say that ME3MP beats BF4 hands down. Much more variety.

It's one of the few co-op multiplayer games around and playing with others is more fun than playing alone in single player.

I went away for some time, playing "Shogun2", "Diablo3" and "Witcher" in between, but I always return and am amazed how wonderful a game ME3MP is.

I like listening to music while playing, good people I got to know are still playing (and getting to know new fine groups to fight with, like Sabreracer and Aetika lately) and, as stated often enough, variety.

Also I think I do pretty well in the game and like the feeling of success when I finished a good game.

Yeah, Aetika and Sabre are awesomesauce. ^_^

On a good team, MP is one of the most exciting, intense and funny games I've ever played.

Yeah, I'm trying to decide on  the next single player to buy but even the big, blockbuster ones have those collectibles trophies, which drive me batty.
