Though I have been reading the Bioware and ME forums for years, this is my first actual post...so please....be gentle  :P

As I was drooling over this game on the ME2 website, yet again, and reviewing the stuff just posted on Jacob, it suddenly occured to me that all squad members revealed to date are all biotics, except Tali....interesting...Even Jacob who is supposed to be an ex-marine (not that this matters beyong an emphasis on his combat training...)

Do you think this fact is significant (with regard to biotics) with regard to either the ME universe as a whole or Cerebus in particular?

What about Thane or Garrus? or even the Salarian?

Thane is a biotic. You can clearly see in numerous trailers.

Jacob seems very out of place as a biotic. He should have been full soldier.

Garrus, Mordin, Grunt and Zaeed (The DLC squadmate) are not Biotics, but I do see your point. There is a larger amount of biotics in this team, which I think is a good thing. As for it's implications... I'm not sure myself.

Thane has biotic skills. Garrus was a Turian Agent in ME which was kinda like an Infiltrator to some extent with some combat/engineer skills.

I think Mordin (the Salarian) is an Engineer, though not sure

So far it looks like Grunt is not a biotic, I'd assume Mordin is not one, and I'm guessing that Zaeed is probably more like a straight out soldier without biotic abilities. So almost half your team is looking like "regular" people without biotic abilities.

50% of the squad is biotic. Exactly the same as ME.

Jacob is probably Biotic because they made him a soldier/biotic in ME:galaxy

Him lacking Biotic powers in ME2 would just be weird

Non-Biotic: Tali, Garrus, Grunt, Mordin and Legion (if he's recruitable)

That's half of our squadmates.

I may have mistakenly assumed Grunt had biotics because of Wrex (which I know one has nothing to do with the other...)

I wasn't saying it as a bad or good thing...was just curious if there was some minor impact or just coincidence.

If Zaeed is indeed a squad member then am assuming as he is a bounty hunter that he will be a 'soldier' too, though *shrugs* who knows. But yeah at present 1 soldier (Grunt), meh my xenophobic infiltrator is just gonna have to have a team of sneaky humans haha

Biotics are superbeings. Tech and combat is affirmative action for regular beings for gamebalance purposes. ;)

Just a rough list of mine of what I think is most possible.

Jacob = Vanguard

Miranda = Sentinel

Garrus = Infiltrator

Tali = Engineer

Zaeed = Soldier

Thane = Adept

Grunt = Soldier

Mordin = Engineer

SuZe = Adept

Samara = Adept???

Legion = Soldier???

Fixed, Miranda is biotic.  That makes half of the squad biotic and half not, just like in the first game.

Though Zaeed probably isn't, which should actually push biotics into a slight minority for squad mates.

I just thought, Grunt uses charge doesn't he? So is that just specific for Krogan's or is he really a Vanguard?

Samara's default weapon is the Assault Rifle

Thane's default is the Sniper Rifle

ME2 Characters do NOT fit perfectly into ME1 class archytypes so much
