Bronze: Not enough baddies to kill.
Silver: Great to goof around.
Gold: Quite challenging and thus fun.
Platinum: Never tried.
So I'd say my favorite is gold for team games. It's just challenging enough to be fun.
Silver is a close second because i like experimenting strange builds; you have enough guys to kill and it's a guaranteed extraction (I'm not experienced enough to do this in gold yet).

Platinum for interesting enemies, bronze for soloing on low level characters, gold for pugging, silver for leveling.

Gold is my default difficulty. Platinum with friends. I pug platinum once in a blue moon...

I generally PUG plat, though dip into gold with kits I'm weak with or if I can't find a good Plat lobby.

Either silver or gold. Silver is a bit on the easy side, but it makes for some laid back gaming. Gold is usually my go to difficulty though. Bronze is way too easy to be enjoyable and I've never enjoyed platinum. Too grindy. Nice to not need the credits anymore.

Gold if 'serious business'™ and silver if testing out something new. Once in a rare while -- bronze solo for a few minutes to try something without worry of being bothered.

Silver for no consumables, successful clutching, full extraction, stress free fun.
Gold if I've got my big girl pants on.
Have never PUG-ed Bronze willingly, too embarrassed to be seen in a bronze lobby LOL.

Gold in general. Platinum if with BSNers.
I pug a lot, and gold is much more fun in that regard. If I'm with more skilled players, gold may not have enough enemies to go around.

Gold for pugging but with friends carrying my scrubby self it's generally platinum.

Pretty much these. I actually think a difficulty level between silver and gold would be nice (larger early waves in terms of mooks like gold but with a pacing closer to silver in terms of when what bosses arrive). But I have fun with gold and silver.

Gold.
Challenging enough at times to keep my skills and enjoyment up, but not as hectic and frenzied as Platinum.
Also, much easier to pug than Plat. Silver is for warmups and snack breaks.

Gold. The boss parade of Platinum is something of a grind.

Also this. I can play any kit and build in Gold and do fine. With Plat it is high DPS kits with cyclonics generally

Platinum, by far. I started playing primarily platinum in order to get my manifest maxed out, and even with that done I haven't been able to go back to playing gold regularly. Not that plat is ideal or well thought out, but at least it's still a challenge, whereas I'm on autopilot when playing gold.

Huh, neat to see all the replies. I figured Gold would edge ahead and it seems like it did.
For myself, I promote to reset 90% of the time, so I'll bum around on Silvers with my low levels until I have whatever core powers/ranks I feel necessary to competently go up to Gold/Plat.
I Gold with kits I'm either new to, weak on, or less than lvl 16ish. Or if finding a Platinum pug lobby becomes a stressful exercise in futility... oooor if I've made a kit that I want to take to against a specific faction (Geth for instance with synthetically potent abilities.)
By far for me, the most fun I've had in this game is when I rock a Platinum with a complete stranger or three. I love the challenge. Particularly I remember having to completely readjust my tactics, but also some over all strategies I employed in the game when I was first introduced to phantoms creeping around behind me while I was concentrated on that Geth Prime. Died a lot before I really started to "Watch my six" in platinums regardless of who I had it set to. I like the credits, and I love the feeling of blowing up bosses like they were mooks when you get at least 2 kits capable of working well together, and players who're using some seriously equipment/consumables.
Platinums offer to me a challenge no other difficulty does. I don't have to scorew'hore to enjoy it, I just like working on the difficulty with funky kits. Did a pug plat on Ghost the other day with two Asari and two Drell (I took my drellpimpguard out of the closet) Everyone went down soooooo much, but everyone was quick to revive everyone else, so the foolery was fun instead of... foolish. I definitely did not score top, but I also definitely enjoyed myself.
...now that being said, by far I have had my worst moments in Platinum as well. It's much more hit'r'miss, with greater extremes at both ends. It's my favourite, but I don't constrain myself to only playing Plats. (I'm looking at you box'o'shamers. That method of playstyle is sooooooo boooooring and foooorever-taking.)
