for various reason platinum is boring/tedious, it can be some fun when friends are on but otherwise it is just a solo fest for me without friends around.

I like to play gold. Plat is unrealistically hard.

Aluminum. :innocent:
I want a difficulty between Bronze and Gold. Yes, I know Silver is situated firmly between Bronze and Gold, but it just feels like there aren't enough enemies. Kind of like the single player has, narrative, casual, normal, hardcore and insanity. I feel like there needs to be another difficulty level in there or two. Another one before bronze, and another one before Gold. And a definite increase in credits for each.
On Tin there is a max of six active enemies, and the highest tier enemy that spawns are Elites (Nemeses, Centurions, Marauders, Captains, Rocket Troopers, Hunters), which do so on w7.
If there had been a difficulty where mixed factions spawned, but had Bronze-level health and damage, I would play the crap out of that.

I'm fully understanding that everyone's at differing levels of experience in this game, but this statement still made me chuckle.

Any old-school AD&D gamer knows that the difficulty between silver and gold should be electrum.

What if the difficulty had nothing to do with mixed factions at all but that was another option you could tick yes/no to? So you could set it up for silver mixed and gold single faction, etc. Platinum could become one faction only or mixed, though it might need some wave budget rebalance (I don't know plat wave budgets so I wouldn't know). It seems liek the level of boss spam would have to we swapped for more intense mook numbers to avoid tedium.

I posted in another thread (which I now cannot find) that I was interested in something similar but the flip side of that coin. A platinum level difficulty (Or higher I suppose) but with only single factions. The wave budget would have to be altered, but the primary increase in difficulty wouldn't necessarily be "more" so much as a new rank of bosses. It'd be less of the traditional "boss spam" that way, if only because they'd have another layer of options to budget in, less prime duo's over and over and over when you can drop a single colossi to tie the team up for a few minutes. (I mean the equivalent of raid bosses essentially.)
It is entirely plausible that this level of difficulty I want would not be soloable, a true co-op event requiring at the very least two teammates to succeed at.
Reapers: Harvesters
Geth: Colossi
Cerberus: Psychotic Biotic
Collectors: Oculus Drone

Gold. Considering the people I usually run with , bronze and silver would be too easy, roflstomp central, gold at least gives a somewhat decent challenge, even if Its still a roflstomp its not as bad of one. platinum however is just tedious, harder then gold yes, but also tedious and boring, gold at least is still fun.
Pretty much covers it. I have a specific group I will run Plat games with, but for everything else there is this.

It really isn't you know - if you've ever solo'd a gold game you should be able to do platinum with the right kit even if the team is ... iffy (lag notwithstanding). Just use a simple yet effective weapons build, like a Destroyer/Typhoon or PPR, until you get used to having big bosses every wave ... and hope you don't get Collectors London.
It's not really that much harder than gold, unless you play melee kits a lot (which I do) as they're kinda gimped in platinum (which is why I prefer gold).
Most fun kits I've found on platinum are Volus Sentinel + Typhoon or Krogan Shaman Adept + Piranha.

Platinum <_<
I have played it a lot in the past but I don't really enjoy it that much. Too much BS. Warp balls that hit you round multiple corners in cover, and thooose Prime Cannons:crying:

Sums it up for me as well
Having to constantly stay in cover to avoid being killed by auto-fire Primes while pew pewing round the corner is much less fun than Ramboing around killing stuff.

actually, instead of psychotic biotic for cerberus, why not thresher maw? ala Grunt's rite of passage? You remember Admiral Kahoku's woes in ME1?
Cerberus doesn't really own multiple thresher maws, story wise it doesn't really add up. As far as story goes, it's not terribly inconceivable that Cerberus had more than one Jack-lab, and that one was successful when indoctrination was introduced into the mix. (Frightening idea. Indoctrinated Crazypants Adepts)
I also wanted to go with something that was a bit unique insofar as the experience of fighting it is concerned. The colossi sort of fills in the role of "Really big boss". Harvester would be a fun aerial assault, something you don't see in ME3MP (Bombers don't count.) Oculus would have a similar feel to the Harvester I think, but with a slightly different trick to it. But fighting a small fast moving target with bonkers powers, that'd be an interesting challenge.
